This actually doesn't provide any context at all! Our *total* military budget is more than China, Russia, Saudi Arabia, France, the UK, India, and Germany combined. Mexico and Canada's budgets are less than 5% of the US's total budget. It's apples and oranges.
Definitely seems bad! Is there any precedent for it though? Does the Pentagon replace furniture on any kind of scheduled timeline? Were replacements overdue? Again, not defending the exorbitant spending on its face, but there is a huge lack of context throughout this piece.
