They did it in 2014. They've just done it again. And FIFA will do nothing about it.
Today's stunning views after leaving Penzance behind. Now in beautiful Wells. Weather still holding for now.
Found a hidden gem in Caerhays Castle in Cornwall today. Then on to Truro to beautiful Boscawen Park and the cathedral, with a quick trip into @waterstones in Truro to drop off @flyonthewallpress.bsky.social catalogue and proofs. Now settled with a gorge view of the sea in sunny Penzance.
Not scientific certainly, but I thought it was interesting. From Facebook. Poll asked who you wanted to be PM by end of year. Overwhelming response is, surprisingly, Keir Starmer.
Thank you. Had a read but couldn't see how far along they are with progress towards 2030 target.
Laure Ferrari bought the Clacton house in Nov 2024 so this must be a different house.
Congratulations to @badsvillebroad.bsky.social for this super news! Such a colourful historical crime writer and a colourful novel. 📚💙 #booksky The Devil's Draper - a 1920s crime fiction romp!
Approx 20% of USA identify as RC. There's a thing in RC church whereby if there's a letter from the Pope or Bishop, it's read out in full at mass. I'd love to see letter from Pope each Sunday for next 6 mths, reminding his flock what it means to be RC. The midterms would be an . Do it, Pope Leo!
It's Good Friday. There's war. There's politics. There's grimness all around. And then there's this. Thank God for dogs. ♥️
"a thriller that has depth and originality". Many thanks to Jackie Law for this super detailed review of Erased by Miha Mazzini on publication day. 💙📚 #booksky
Spring is well and truly sprung! Magnolia in bloom, dog wants to play ball, washing outside for first time since last year, and just enough early rhubarb for a small crumble. Simple things that help us to cope with the mess of the world as it is.

Maybe this gives an idea of why. Just posted now at almost 10.30pm.
This investigative piece from the Guardian in 2020 is still well worth reading. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2020.... As usual, nothing specific pinned on Teflon man, but this extract caught my eye. Perhaps some journalist might like to get back in touch with Mr Houraney?
It's a wild, freezing day 🥶❄️🥶 so stay inside and curl up with a dog/cat (delete as appropriate), a hot chocolate and a good book.
Hi Rob, just wondered if you'd read this Substack on polling in the UK. I found it very interesting and informative. I'd like to know what you make of what it has to say. P.s it's not a grift. It's a very detailed article.
For all everyone loves to take the proverbial out of Keir Starmer, today's Substack is simple and worth the quick read. 93 public service workers and their families sitting down to Xmas dinner at 10 Downing St. substack.com/@keirstarmer...
They're fantastic aren't they? They did the most wonderful window for The Wager and the Bear for @flyonthewallpress.bsky.social earlier in the year. Independent booksellers are brilliant!
While people are slagging the government for not joining the EU defence fund project, details matter. Initial cost to Canada of joining €10 million. EU asked the UK for €6.75 billion. Slight difference.
