okay first off you are being an AMAZING friend and I'm sure she probably tells you but please know that doing that kind of stuff is so so so helpful for us!!!!! and second off I just realized she is probably going through it with the whole cyclospora thing rn GAH I'm keeping her in my thoughts
She's my favorite fictional character ever!! I love her in Hades 2 as well, I literally screamed when I saw her! The tone of her in the Odyssey is very similar to her character in Circe by Madeline Miller, (which is one of my favorite books of all time)
Went to an animal sanctuary today, cried quite a bit, but got to experience the love of all of these sweet animals.
People really wonder why vegans and vegetarians talk about it so much whenever they become one and it's because it genuinely feels like you're waking up from a horrible dream and yet everyone else around you thinks YOU'RE the insane and extreme one. TW rape mention in the screenshot findings:
It really depends on the place! I've seen some people use beyond/impossible steak tips but this specific place uses textured vegetable protein (TVP) from soy flour!
Found an awesome plastic-free & cruelty free swap for dishwashing detergent tablets. The brand is Blueland and they're fantastic.
Yesss I love soy protein crumbles! This is one of my fav chicken dupes by far. Not sure how it would work in a soup but I like them in pastas and salads!
I made tempeh buffalo strips for the first time and they turned out really good!
This baby announcement cross stitch for my friend is coming along nicely I think
I have two favorites folders on Etsy specifically for shirts and sweatshirts related to my interests (cats, zelda, video games, mtg, etc) and when I want a new shirt/sweatshirt I just pick from these lmao
Photos really don't do this TWSBI eco in "Amazonite" coloring justice. It's a beautiful mint color. It's coming off as more turquoise in the pics.
Hadn't bought a fountain pen in over a year, so decided to pick up these two beautiful pens I saw at my local store.
I can't believe that mockingbirds aren't more people's favorite birds. Mockingbirds are the BEST and I love them. Kings and Queens of boundaries.
Personally I get scared that anything I make won't be as good, so I just buy this brand from the Asian food store However, my partner makes his own with like 2 tablespoons of Chicken Better than Bouillon and a teaspoon of gochujang paste for a much less spicy base and it's still really good :)
4. Superfan by Jenny Tinghui Zhang. Really interesting novel about the dark sides of fandom, I thought it was really interesting and it actually made me reflect on my own experiences re: being a megafan of a celebrity.
3. Yesteryear by Caro Claire Burke. This book is fucking INSANE (complimentary). It's about a tradwife social media influencer who gets stuck in the 1800s and her life up to that point. Would recommend checking the TWs before reading because it, uh, has a lot.
2. Most Eligible by Isabelle Engel. I don't generally read contemporary romance that often (nothing against it, it's just not in my usual rotation!) but this was a fun, behind-the-scenes style "The Bachelor" read :)
Going to be an annoying person and request that we start using the Rod of Asclepius (left), the symbol of Medicine, instead of the Caduceus (right) which is the symbol of Speed/Commerce but was incorrectly adopted by the US Army Medical Corp in 1902 & has caused confusion ever since
One is pleasant. Delightful. A certified Little Guy™. The other has bad vibes.
johnson and johnson (the manufacturer) is agreeing to pay the $600 but its like.... for how long.... and who is to say you don't simply change your mind randomly one day and decide you don't want to pay nearly ~$8000 a year to keep me alive when you have no allegiance to me whatsoever.....
local bookstore to me had disability pride flag stickers !!! although it kind of broke my heart that they were on clearance lol I picked up the last two (one for my laptop and one for my water bottle)
