Youtuber, Auslan Teacher, pottering around learning about learning and language learning in Auslan. Am big fan of making my homeroom, my art gallery too. There are a tonne of talented signers linked in playlists.
Not yet added the language but thanks to @msftresearch.bsky.social for knowing that stock video can keep eyes on page. Parrot is a very cool way to find the video on Youtube (to be released soon) and practice parrot and numbers.
I knew I was tired because it had been beyond hectic in June, but when the evidence was in front of me from Youtube, 14 videos, it all became exhaustion clear. I'm also getting better at setting up videos but accepting small mistakes too
@techie90.bsky.social @amuseed.bsky.social Like I said yesterday ish, so weird how I don't see people that I follow, lots of strangers via blue sky. Not the easiest site, so nice to see you
Living Big in a Tiny House has given me a 2nd breath of life in making home, homey once more
Showing that "pile" is such a bendy word, with lots of synonyms for it. Kids can use depiction in sign to share more details and build their capacity to story tell, to share, to sign #languages
I don't get why more people don't focus on the floor. When I'm filming down there it makes ambience lovely. Is it because it makes it harder to vacuum? #staycation 😍
Loving the warm orange tones, and the floral will make a nice backdrop. The floral drop will also mean I don't have to make odd sized things somehow neat. Feel like I got a bit of my homey feel back again. #staycation
Every now and then I get the urge to upend all the interior of my tiny 40 square flat and started by settingup a new standing filming table on this outdoor chair. Lucky I am pretty short
This is the shell before I add in the video. The test yourself is working with the baby steps it takes. Loads of students need that retrieval practice #languages
I seriously amped up signing around the great lockdown and remember being pleased if 2 of my students checked. These kind of numbers blow me away
Yesterday I went for a delightful round of Negronis but as a result, today was a bit of a schamozzle
Classic handshapes here we come as the Semester kicks start a week before the hols. Why I don't know
Boxing the command term, or verb, gives students way more chances to practice those senior year level terms they need, to really hone in on what they mean and use a lot! For those who bag PP, try using it like this, it makes a world of animation difference.
4 legs or 2. Thumbnails and quizzes, so kids can get the verbs right in Auslan. Takes like forever
This "red backpack" was proof of concept, that kids needed a way to find things more independently. Step 1 make a playlist to attach it to. Then students are literally finding the red backpack quiz. #languages #Auslan I'm down to 5 percent of kids needing extra help finding.
Behind the scenes I work on more video on numbers because my students are both new and showing me they don't get primes. The samey colour theme was from them. #languages #learning #Auslan Each ot these take hours
#youtube and hard to believe I've been doing this ten years yes a blinking decade. This .jpg was about how my thumbnails or the covers, for each playlist have improved #languages
Made a goal, getting to 500 subscribers today. Mind you the bulk of people who do watch are not subscribers, but this is youtube, full of weird twists and turns #languages #youtube
This art deco building was at the end of Degraves St and I would love to have gone inside to have a sticky beak
