A short period of tranquility between yesterday's high winds and the snow forecasted for tomorrow.
Unusual to see 4 bucks in the woods behind my house. They are just staying warm on a below zero day.
This morning the full "Beaver" moon peeked out between the fall colors before setting in the western sky. Enjoy the day and the season.
This small grasshopper wanted its picture taken while I was out seed harvesting today at Kishwauketoe Nature Conservancy.
This dragonfly stopped to let me take this picture while I was doing volunteer work at Kishwauketoe.
I just finished reading "An Officer and a Spy" by Robert Harris. This historical fiction book was well written, taking place in France during the late 1800's. A good read, which I enjoyed.
Looking East with the lake in the distance on my walk during this chilly Spring morning in Wisconsin.
I have been reading this series of "Mailboat" books. A fictional murder mystery that takes place in Lake Geneva WI. While reading, I can easily visualize the actions taking place, being that I live in this area. I know the author, and she plans to write 3-4 more books in this series.
I'm reading a fascinating book about the inaccurate Carbon 14 time stamping of the Shroud of Turin and new technology, which provides a more accurate account of the Shrouds authenticity.
Reading a fascinating book about the Shroud of Turin, which describes the flawed Carbon 14 time dating of the Shroud, and newer technology that more accurately dates the Shroud to the time Christ died.
Thousands of birds assembled by the west end of the lake this morning. Canadian geese, Coots, Loons, Mallard ducks, and even 2 Swans. Beautiful site.
Another beautiful day for a walk by the lake today. The Canadian geese seem to enjoy being by the beach on this 6-degree morning. 🥶
Beautiful clear morning by the lake. Interesting ice forming on the rocks by the shore, with some thin ice beginning to cover the lake.
Winter solstice beauty at Kishwauketoe Nature Conservancy in Williams Bay WI this morning.
The coots are huddled together, probably to stay warm on this 8 degree morning at the lake.
