If you don’t have a thundershirt. Snuggly wrapping your dog like this may help keep them calm. Start under the neck, cross up & over shoulders, down to cross under the chest, then back up around the belly, cross over the back, and tie. Snug but not tight.

My boy was terrified of thunderstorms, lightening, and fireworks. He would start trembling when it started to rain.

The first time I wrapped him as shown, he fell asleep during the fireworks.

Eventually he was able to feel calm enough to get through fireworks.

I got a thundershirt for him and he wore that any day there was bad weather in the forecast.

Made a world of difference.

The wrapping technique originally came from The Whole Dog Journal about 20 years ago.

If you don’t have a thundershirt. Snuggly wrapping your dog like this may help keep them calm.

Using a long stretchy scarf or other fabric, start under the neck, cross up & over shoulders, down to cross under the chest, then back up around the belly, cross over the back, and tie. Snug but not tight.

Deaf dogs hear with their hearts. It is a very special love.

Fluffy white dog born deaf 15 1/2 yo still looking like a puppy. She ruled the roost that included another dog and 4 cats. She was incredibly smart. She is dearly missed.

Just adopted her yesterday.
She 4 years old and all of 10 pounds.

She’s perfectly fine with our cats even though she’d never met a cat before.

Hoping the cats will feel that way soon too. No aggression. The cats are just pouting in their catio.

Or a bonded pair of older cats. They are so hard to find homes home for. We have a very friendly social feral who will not let us touch her. We absolutely adore her. And she adores her big brother who was already living with us.

Ramzy (L) & Fuma (R). Fuma was a tiny raggedy kitten when she showed up in our garden. She and Ramzy played with each other through the mesh of our catio. They were best friends right away.

They are two years apart.
