Thrilled to see @ultrabrilliant.xyz’s Perfect Organism in print, lots of us at @lostincult.co.uk worked on this one to make the new edition as good as it could be. The new illustrations by @cdsart.bsky.social are a particular treat!

Spending far too long designing a band flyer to get it - just so - in @waxheadsgame.bsky.social
My work was a lot looser back then, it worked for quick turnaround jobs to cover news and daily features but I started to tighten up my style for more commercial work as places like Vice started to shut down. But these kind of jobs were fun and expressive and I learnt a lot turning stuff out fast
Illustration for Vice Magazine from around 2014 (I think) this one is on the topic of an overzealous NYCPD ticketing people for anything and everything.
Here's a couple of rough ideas we went through when coming up with the cover / title for the zine too:
'Log Off' Cover art for a little zine we made at @lostincult.co.uk celebrating it's 5th birthday
Inside the zine every page has bespoke illustrations, here's one from the Metroid article, Samus is getting a cake power up!
Here's the cover art - I wanted it to feel like it wasn't about a specific game and tap into the kind of art that works for a zine, a little weird, something that feels like artist once saw a game one time out of the corner of their eye and half remembered it :)
Thread of some of the images I made for the @lostincult.co.uk birthday zine - This is the logo. I wanted to make it so that it felt bouncy, fun and relaxed. The zine talks about games but has a personal angle where those os us on the team talk about our own lives and experience through that lens.
Oh damn this reminds of when I made this Simpsons x Terminator 2 fan art yeaaaars ago!
Ah thanks! Yeah there is a larger coloured version of this which was used for the cover of ‘Anime Archives’ glad you’re seeing all those refs! We had to somewhat disguise things for the books publication just a tad, so for example it’s not kaneda on the Akira bike but someone slightly different..!
Interesting find at the recycling centre shop today, a pretty nicely preserved C64 keyboard and music software bundle. Never heard of of this so it was cool to check out, the box designs are really nice.
My physical copy of Animal Well arrived this week, so excited to see it! @mossmouth.bsky.social did a fantastic job with the cover art, it’s a beauty!
