Been a while since I've done a #WIPWednesday !! Have a preview of my toxic #BkDkBk fic I'm workin on~

Silence settles over them for a moment. “Sorry,”

“Sorry for what, Izuku?” Katsuki sighs as he pulls out two bowls for their dinner and begins to plate them.

Izuku watches him and imagines this scene actually feeling as domestic as it seemed. “I'm sorry for upsetting you but I just can't right now,”

“Why?” Katsuki asks sharply. The bowl of katsudon being placed before Izuku harshly. When the green haired man doesn't reply Katsuki looks like he wants to pull his hair out, “I don't need you to apologize Izuku. I need you to talk to me. God, I fucking miss the times when you were the emotionally responsible one. You were shit at it, and reckless, but you still held out your hand and said whatever was on your mind. Now it's just silence,”

Frustration built up in Izuku’s chest. He didn't want to hear this from Katsuki of all people. But it wasn't like he could be truly mad at him. These were all things he'd already been thinking about and trying to sort out but hearing someone else point it out stung and made him defensive and made him want to curl up in a ball.

“… It's complicated,”

“No fucking shit Izuku. I know it's complicated – I was fucking there! It's been eight goddamn years Izuku. Eight years and you haven't said a single word to me about the war. Even Round Face is opening up about Toga! I know it's hard. I know it hurts. But if you can't open up to me then who else!?”

Tears are starting to well up in Katsuki’s eyes. Izuku stands from his seat and goes to wrap his arms around the man before him only to get pushed away.

“Kacchan …” There’s no response from Katsuki. Again Izuku goes to wrap his arms around Katsuki’s waist, this time not letting the blond push him away. He grabs Katsuki’s wrists in one hand and presses them into his chest while his other arm brings him in closer with his grip on his waist. “Baby,”

That gets a reaction out of Katsuki. Red eyes snap to look at him in furry. Katsuki sneers, baring his teeth as he spits out his next words. “Don’t you fucking ‘baby’ me! Fuck you! You do this shit every fucking ti—”

Izuku cuts Katsuki off with his lips. He can feel Katsuki’s fist clench against his chest, trying to decide between pushing or pulling, and ultimately they fist in Izuku’s shirt – pulling. The kiss is slow, two deep pulls of their lips running from air before they part. It’s easier for Izuku to let go of Katsuki’s hands and cup his cheek, brushing away those streaks of tears and pressing a small peck to the corner of his mouth.

“I really am sorry for upsetting you Kacchan. I hate seeing you cry,”

“Then stop making me fucking cry,” Katsuki bites back.

Another deep kiss is stolen right after Katsuki finishes speaking. Izuku feels safe and warm having Katsuki in his arms, pressing their lips together, smelling his cologne under the scent of food, and hearing his voice break from the calmer tone he now usually had. It’s all so new and different, yet so wonderfully Katsuki that Izuku drinks up every second of it. Because despite all the joy he felt holding his precious Kacchan it was poisoned by the all encompassing fear of being an imposter.

This wasn’t what he deserved – not Katsuki, nor Izuku. Neither of them deserved this relationship as it was now. Izuku felt selfish for holding Katsuki down, keeping him locked down on earth when he should be soaring through the skies. He didn’t deserve the compassion and patience, of all things, that Katsuki was constantly giving him. And Katsuki didn't deserve the way that Izuku was treating him. He deserved someone else who wasn't an absolute mess, scared of giving Katsuki all the things he wants.

Pulling away from Katsuki’s lips Izuku doesn't open his eyes just yet. Too aware of just how angry Katsuki will be. Instead he tries to deal with this in a different way, a way that hurts both of them but him more than Katsuki.
