I said this to some old friends earlier.

I used to work with Americans. There was a qualitative difference between those who travelled abroad for business and those who never left the US. The former were broader minded and open to ideas (but not lefties). The latter had very limited world experience. But they weren’t bad people, they would always help a neighbour. Perhaps the nastiest were some senior executives who had the wealth is right mindset.
