Good morning.

An overcast sky and a very dim sun that is a shade of orange more likely seen right at sunrise or sunset, due to smoke from distant wildfires in Canada and Minnesota.

Finally this.

A sky with mixed layers of types of clouds with spotty lower clouds that are mostly gray but some have orangish highlights. The higher clouds are wispy streaks of white creating a contrast amid the other clouds and patches beyond where blue sky is visible.

Further developments.

Image taken 15 minutes after the first image. Now the sky is almost entirely a gently varying light gray except for small hole from which blue sky and a bright glint of sunlight can be seen. The same silhouetted treeline frames the bottom of the photograph.

Incoming storm from the northwest

High in the frame of the photograph is a patch of storm clouds varying from light to very dark highlighting internal structural density. Beneath is shown a narrow ribbon of visible sky that is a monochromatic twilight with signs of distant rainfall. Further beneath is the top of a treeline that is in silhouette.

I don’t have cable or wifi, so catching up on weather while visiting a relative. This trend in cable channel set design is terrible for providing information. Perhaps an executive looking at a 72 inch screen thought, yeah, that should do it. No, it’s crap. #tvsneckdown

A picture of a tv tuned to the weather channel. On the screen, the studio camera shot is of a man gesturing at a monitor on the set which shows a forecast map. To frame the shot adequately there is an inordinate amount of negative space. This in effect makes the useful info in the shot much smaller than it need be. I have taken the liberty of coloring in the significant wasted space for emphasis.
