23 year old artist and game dev. Pyramis: Ko-fi: Chimera Nursery: @chimeranursery.bsky.social
i used to be mutuals with this one artist who drew cute critters like this all the time and i don't know where they are now but i hope they're doing well
i drew the mouth at first and then it sort of just ended up as noelle holiday
delighted to report that in the newest version of blender they finally made the grease pencil fill bucket Usable
my friend gifted me nitro but i forgot to check what kind of nitro it was before i made this so i don't actually get to use this as a profile picture. Oops
sometimes i post furry art and sometimes i post nine slice textures and neither my furry followers or my game dev followers end up winning
i'd never tried to chart anything before literally today so i hope this seems Interesting To Play at least
for fun, i'm trying to make this as if it were meant to be an actual game asset. there's a white base texture, and a mask texture used for color. i'm like probably not actually going to use it for anything but i like practicing this stuff for fun!
oh god . they're approaching. oh god where did i put my plastic guitar oh my god
nothing to do with my point but thinking about guitar hero made me want to try making the Yummiest-looking Guitar Hero Note i could muster
redoctane is making their own guitar hero called Stage Tour... it's awesome to see an attempt at a revitalization but as someone who adores guitar hero's visuals it's a bit of a shame to see that the stylization is comparatively bland... i kinda hope they reconsider the direction they're going in
got another maxout but it happened like... shockingly early into the game. to the point where it's really making me consider how to handle the speed curve
anyway my main takeaway from the nintendo direct is that we're getting a third "splatoon font". get excited, folks-- this one's just as good as the first two
pyramis refactor is nearly finished, and it's still possible to achieve a maxout in it (maxout is intended to be 99999999 points; rng and speed curve are different from the public version and still subject to change)
okay well that was a lot easier to implement than i expected. right now it's just a 9-bag (assuming you're playing with 3 colors) but maybe later i'll add support for bags with duplicates
rng is "working" now but. this is what it looks like with the formula i'm using. it's just this first few blocks that're particularly egregious but i think it's enough to convince me that i should look into something like the tetris bag system
there's no rng or speedup yet, but i think it's fair to say that the pyramis C library is somewhere around 70% complete! there will still be more work to do in regards to getting it to talk to godot, but Foundationally things are turning out really good
pyramid detection algorithm is working... this is easily the most annoying part to program but i have Two previous iterations that i'm free to use as a reference and copy verbatim so YAY!!!
i've spent basically all day porting pyramis to C... i'm able to build both an SDL3 example project and a GDExtension using the same code. it's going pretty great!!
i don't usually go here but Oh What The Heck i'm feeling Festive. happy macro may everybody
i like programming but i'm also not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed so i will strive to make my documentation as "for dummies" as possible for the sake of others like me
what do you MEAN it worked first try. computers aren't supposed to do that
i wanna work on pyramis again... sorry i haven't updated it in a while... had an idea for a new mode
my windows partition is just fine, and even though grub is being screwy, i can get into windows from the uefi menu... there's nothing to REALLY worry about, but i sure am annoyed...
