Went into that Warhammer store and everything was in Japanese. I took a video of 1/8 of the store. Somebody help me figure this shit out 😭😅😅 the shop owner mentioned the other side of the store had the warhammer 40,000 or whatnot in it and that one had a girl character.

Found these in my old scrapbook. I had at least 12 of these in my room growing up.

Great Kings of Africa featuring Great African Queens poster from the 90s. Presented by Budweiser “king of beers” is written on the bottom right.
Queen Nzingha wears large gold earrings, bands of gold as a necklace, arm band, bracelets and a ring. She sits on a throne with rhinos facing left and right. This was drawn by Dorothy Carter. There is a map of the African continent with a red mark in subSaharan west Africa to show her area of rule.

Nzingha - Amazon Queen of Matamba, West Africa (1582-1663). Many women ranked among the great rulers of Africa including this Angolan queen who was an astute diplomat. When the Portuguese attacked the army of her brother’s kingdom, Nzingha was sent to negotiate the peace. She did so well with astonishing skill and practical tact, despite the fact that her brother had her only child killed.
Additionally, Nzingha excelled as a military leader. To arrest the swelling influx of slave-hunting Portuguese, she formed an army and waged war for nearly 30 years. These battles saw a unique moment in colonial history as Nzingha allied her nation with the Dutch. This marked the first African-European alliance against a European oppressor.
Nzingha continued to wield considerably influence among her subjects despite being forced into exile. Because of her quest for freedom and relentless drive to bring peace to her people, Nzingha remains a glimmering symbol of inspiration.

Great Kings of Africa featuring Great African Queens. Hatshepsut - sits with a white head adornment with a red band, a blue gown with a (currently known as a cleopatra collar) multicolor collar baring her arms and the body of the dress is royal blue. She wears a gold bracelet and arm band while holding a light colored cat on her lap, held gently there with her right hand. This chapter of history is presented by the king of beers Budweiser is printed on the bottom right of the poster. The current political country of Egypt is shown in red on the African continent.

Hatshepsut - The Ablest Queen of Far Antiquity. Some Egyptologists regard Hatshepsut as the greatest female ruler of all time. Her father, Thorthmes [sic Thutmose] I, was highly impressed with the efficiency of his daughter and appointed her manager and co-ruler of his kingdom. As his successor, she proved to be a most competent leader. Hatshepsut is credited with promoting both industry and agriculture within Egypt. One of the highlights of her reign was the organization of the first expedition to the land of Punt. From this journey she brought back a number of riches and a variety of plants which she would adapt to the Egyptian climate. As the first woman in recorded history to preside over a nation, Hatshepsut cast aside the theory of male supremacy. Several male rivals, including her brother Thorthmes [sic] III, pointed to the issue of femininity as they sought to oust her from power. However, she repelled their challenges to reign for 33 years. This spirited defiance of male dominance endured to the very end as evidenced by the discovery of her tomb in the Valley of the Kings. The legacy of Hatshepsut remains very much alive as the words of this Egyptian Queen are engraved on the walls of temples which continue to stand.

Happened to one of my ancestors in New Orleans. A company sold her free sons into slavery. She went to the Supreme Court of Louisiana to get them back.

Euphémie had her eldest children forcibly taken from her and sold into Slavery by J.A. Beard & Co. and in January 1859 the 3rd District Court of New Orleans tried the case.

Horne was long involved with the Civil Rights Movement. In 1941, she sang at Café Society, New York City's first integrated venue, and worked with Paul Robeson. During World War II, when entertaining the troops for the USO, she refused to perform "for segregated audiences or for groups in which German POWs were seated in front of Black servicemen", according to her Kennedy Center biography.[21] Because the U.S. Army refused to allow integrated audiences, she staged her show for a mixed audience of Black U.S. soldiers and white German POWs. Seeing the Black soldiers had been forced to sit in the back seats, she walked off the stage to the first row where the Black troops were seated and performed with the Germans behind her. However, the USO observed at the time of her death that Horne did in fact tour "extensively with the USO during WWII on the West Coast and in the South".[22] The organization also commemorated her for the appearances she made on Armed Forces Radio Service programs Jubilee, G.I. Journal, and Command Performances.[22] In the film Stormy Weather (1943), Horne's character would perform the film's title song as part of a big, all-star show for World War II soldiers as well.[23] After quitting the USO in 1945, Horne financed tours of military camps herself.[24]

Cultural and Traditional Motivations

In Somalia, FGM is viewed as a rite of passage from puberty to adulthood. This rite marks a girl’s entry into marital and social life, and the practice is seen as essential for maintaining a woman’s virginity and purity.

In many communities, an uncut girl may be perceived as “impure” and unsuitable for marriage. Mothers and elder women in the community play a key role in perpetuating this tradition, passing the practice down to younger generations.

Religious Motivations

Some supporters of FGM in Somalia justify the practice through a distorted interpretation of Islam. Although Islam does not prescribe FGM, some Somali communities erroneously believe it to be a religious obligation.

However, major Muslim religious organizations, including the Somali League of Ulema, have clarified that there is no religious basis for FGM.
