Another decocted lager. This one is meant to be an extra herb Northern German style pilsner but my rustic set up seems more attuned to Bohemian and Franconian style lagers. Delicious but more country style than Jever.

One of the joys of brewing in the garage is being able to indulge in historic brewing. I brewed this 1890's style XXX mild yesterday. Inspired by Durdan Park, Ron and Martyn rather than an exact recipe replication. 48% MO pale, 43% carapils, 5% Amber , a pinch of black, 4% invert number 2.
It's ok though. The government has the humility to let the market sort it out. Same humility the English had when the Irish potato harvest failed.
Hey @dashingdarbs.bsky.social , Im listening to this and musing when the term "Metalcore" came along. I remember in the 90's this sort of music was called metal by the punks and hardcore by us bogans. It's like we met in the middle.
