This summer, we celebrated the opening of our newly refurbished Music Room, which includes a beautiful new rehearsal and performance room equipped with state-of-the art A/V equipment and a Model B Steinway, two practice rooms, a green room and a footbridge connecting the space to a lift.

The Master was honoured to host international star of the ballet and contemporary dance world Carlos Acosta for an ‘in conversation’ in Canal House ahead of the award of his Honorary Degree at Encaenia 2026. Congratulations to Carlos, and thank you for sharing an inspiring evening with our students!

Last Friday morning, the Chancellor of the University of Oxford Baron Hague of Richmond, had breakfast in College with a group of SPC students from both the JCR and MCR. Students made the most of this unusual opportunity for an exploratory and wide-ranging discussion with a former Foreign Secretary.

SPC Chemistry Dinner 2026! This is an annual social event for our Chemistry students, with all our tutors invited. This year, Chemistry Fellows Prof Adam Kirrander and Prof Matt Fuchter were joined by emeritus fellow Prof Mark Maloney, inorganic tutor Dr Lydia Gilday and maths tutor Mr Jakub Kara.

Our Access and Outreach Engineering Residential, held from 8–10 April brought together 30 future engineers from across the UK. Students enjoyed an ambitious programme of lectures, tutorials, research talks led by the Engineering Department, and a demonstration with the Robotics Institute.
