Director of Engineering @ Capital One. Lover of cheese, Typescript/JavaScript code nerd, video game player, and all-around geek. If you are MAGA, block me now. I have a hard stance against fascism and the murder of US citizens.
The fun part about being an engineer is breaking stuff and realizing if you break it harder it might show up on someone's on call schedule. Sorry dominos app on call....
Dear @ticketmaster.com , why are you so incredibly bad at this says the guy at ~9pm EDT. Wanted to see Angine de Poitrine but guess your janky coding means no. This is why everyone and their mothers cousin hates you.
Damn it, I hate today. A certain Cypress influencer posted this, and I fell for it like a sucker cause I am sleep deprived. Sigh. Ima leave it on my LI like I knew it was just a joke and pretend, but you, the real MVPs know I fell for it. Damn you @bahmutov.bsky.social.
Possibly the most annoying Zoom feature of all time, trying to force me to use this stupid crap I very much am aware of and will absolutely never ever turn on. Just stop Zoom, it looks sad when you beg.
Control D update. 3.3m requests have gone through now for December. Nearly 1/3 of those have been blocked. That is wild to think that 1/3 of my traffic is ad tracking and logging. It makes sense, but still wild to see it put in an actual number. Well worth the $20 a year.
I have also been running these rules in Little Snitch as a bit of redundancy, and it is not surprising, considering how devs like to log things, but still somehow shocking just how much blocking it is doing.
I've had this same fridge at my desk since I got it discounted working at Best Buy in high school. It's collecting tech stickers like a laptop and feels like a fun time capsule. @puf.bsky.social sticker on there you might appreciate.
I decided to try the trial which is why I am able to see metrics. I also wanted to use more lists. For example it also shows which lists are capturing what percent of the blocking.
There has been much talk about AI taking our jobs, and here I am still finding major sites in the wild written in Angular 1. We gonna be alright fam.
While also on the job market, I am also in the market for a cheese-based cult. Anything that comes with a supply.
If this is part of your application process, please just stop. These are interview questions.
And for my final post before bed as I hit the midway point of my final week at Cisco I wanted to share my most prized memento. My team made me this gift a while back and it means everything to me. This represents to me all the great things our team did together. Ever get on a call it sits behind me
The joy I get when I get that follow from @puf.bsky.social!! Welcome to Bluesky! Love having all the Firebase friends here.
Further Lego timeline cleanser, lifesize space suit lego from the Air & Space museum!
