sometimes it feels like videogames as a medium exist as a way not to think about things - that literalising these things into bland mechanisms is a way not to have to deal with the pain caused by their presence, or their absence.

"why this had to be a game", had to be a movie, a comic, etc, the fearfulness of concealing volition as necessity - no, don't worry, it's not that they simply wanted to do such and such a thing, it's that they had to do it, they had no choice, which makes it better. sometimes you just want something and other people look at the wreckage of your miserable desires and relate to it or not. necessity in art discourse is those little bumper rails they put down at kids bowling.

golly mama, the water is gorgeous! Have you ever seen that kind of crisp, clear water for yourself? I've only seen it once. Right after high school, in one of the worst intervals of my life, my adorable friend called one afternoon. I had been driving her to and from school for months, after returning under duress from prison school where I had been unjustly sent for the crime of not wanting to be treated like an idiot child. Anyway we were in theater together, saw each other almost every day, but we never talked much; or rather, she didn't, because she was perfectly content not to talk most of the time. I loved that about her. She clearly thought I was funny, and could also make me laugh, but she mostly just used her face to respond when people talked. I loved that. So she called me up, and I answer incredulously like, "Hello????" because I was pretty sure we'd never see each other again, the way I would never see most of the people I went to high school with because they'd almost entirely decided I was a huge piece of trash. So she immediately says, "Uhhhhh, do you wanna go to Aruba?" I laughed and made her repeat because that couldn't be what she'd said. "My dad works for Delta and has buddy passes and we're going to Aruba next week. Do you wanna go?" I had never met her dad, and knew this would be extremely weird, but it was literally $99 for the whole trip and I luckily had a passport even though I'd never left the country. I guess I won't tell the whole story, but we arrived, walked down to the beach, and I felt my sense of the world broaden significantly. I'd grown up seeing only the Gulf and Atlantic from Georgia and Florida. This was Movie Water. My tiny life, my limited, impoverished upbringing, had truly not prepared me for Tropical Water! I let out a big breath, looked at my friend, and she made the "can you believe this?!!!" face. I just shook my head and kinda laughed. "I didn't know this was real." We stood there a long time.

Okay, back to Falceaux. I really like her beak shape, and it's very funny that she's impatient to "get on with it" when they're flying at like mach 20 (more in alt, really good notes in there don't miss em)

Yeah, that's a great beak shape. I'm not an ornithopter, but those beak are made for peckin! Also, good grief look at the feathers! Are we so jaded by the progress of technology that we can't appreciate the delicacy and shade on her feathers??? Gorgeous.

I'm also appreciating the sideview on the eye-dongle. Nice and chunky, very functional. Not clear how it stays on yet, but I ASSUME the left and right side are magnetized, and clamp down on the head that way

Note that Falceaux has an ADDITIONAL eye bongle, on the other side. The others didn't have that, right? She probably has an astrogmatysm

LETS TALK FASHION. what in the good god damn is going on here. I like the ripped vest-style jacket; NOBODY puts baby in a longsleeve. That frayed fabric is a direct descendant of Mario's plush romper from Smash Bros. But what's up with the metal pauldron?? Is that a crowbotic arm? A prostweetsis???? A cybawknetic squawkmentation??????? or is she just too fucking cool???????????
