girls like girls (hayley kiyoko, 2026) - maybe it’s because i went in with really low expectations and it had that nostalgia factor, but i liked this a lot more than i expected. but held back when it came to actually tackling homophobia!! also, sonya sucked!! coley… learn your worth…
obsession (curry baker, 2026) - idk how anyone came away from this thinking it treated nikki with the sympathy the character deserved lol leviticus (adrian chiarella, 2026) - it was fine. felt like it held back in its exploration of homophobic violence and didn’t flesh out the romance enough!
s1 of the l word (2004) peak fiction? terrible outfits, “lisa the male lesbian”, dana fairbanks has a depressive episode bc she learns she’s a squirter, whatever is going on with jenny schecter, bette<3… everyone acts like they watched this show at gunpoint so i’m excited to see where it goes
prompt (charles band, 2025) - a woman goes into ai psychosis after a mysterious man appears in all of her lesbian porn prompts. which are all like, “influencer girls kissing golden hour lighting” “influencer women kissing in limo beautiful lighting”… so her deepest fantasy is just good lighting
adult shauna shipman after you ask her why she started eating her former classmate alive
beaches (1988, garry marshall) - i didn’t think i liked this that much and then i fucking sobbed at the ending so jokes on me… crying at “wind beneath my wings”…
red rooms (2023, Pascal Plante) - favorite movie i've seen in a while. it's about snuff, but the movie doesn't go to gore for its most unsettling moments. really shocked me, actually understands how the internet works (rare in film!), an exploration of the voyeuristic way people consume true crime
the dangers in my heart (s1 & s2) - i love them 🥺 🥺 🥺 i really appreciated how well this struck the balance between sweet and innocent and middle school horndog. it does really capture the essentials of fourteen year old love lol
this title screen kills me every time... surely they'll get a real opening soon
the drama (kristoffer borgli, 2026) - i took too long to watch this so i knew the "worst thing" going in :( i actually felt that it held back, i wanted it to build up to something even messier! and also yeah, what rachel did was worse!
sweetpea (2024) - i watched this as part of my yellowjackets comedown because ella purnell is in it. should've known it wouldn't be good when the ao3 tag only had crossover fics shipping sweetpea with shauna shipman lol. show so lame there weren't even any fics of her and her high school bully.....
and the hair???????????????????????? damn 2004 really was a long time ago huh
im trying to put myself in the mindset of a woman in 2004 who would find her irresistibly sexy but i just can't with these outfits
given - i really enjoyed this and thought it explored grief really effectively. the series and the first movie are really great, but unfortunately the last two movies were a little muddled so it didn't close out with as big of a bang as i would've liked :(
if i was dead ass jackie i would be more upset about how shauna did my makeup than i would be about getting eaten
