Always feels like I keep letting these huge gaps form between when I make tf pieces.

A young, bright lad, looking optimistically at the camera. "A baby boi" as some might be inclined to describe him.

A large, muscular monster silhouetted by the darkness which surrounds him. Its maw is stretched open and his back is muscular, but hunched, contouring sinew as well as bone. The hair is quite similar to the boy's hair of the last picture.

Panel 1:
3 people are greeted by another person as the group arrives in an alternate dimension.
"Welcome to our alternate dimension!"
"Cool! So, what's different here?"

Panel 2:
The greeter explains to the group the primary difference between their dimensions.
"Most everything is the same, but Toriyama wrote 'One Piece.'"
"Oh, we gotta see this."

Panel 3:
The visitors start reading One Piece on a giant device called the Comi-scope, custom made to read comics at a large size.
"Oh my God, it's just 3 chapters."
"Where's his hate?!"
"Look at Luffy's hair!"

Panel 4:
We see a handful of panels, where this dimension's Luffy finds the One Piece and Nami is in another panel.
"Zoro's still here..."
"Wait..."
"He just finds the One Piece?!"
"But there's 2 more chapters."

Panel 5:
The visitors stand, astounded at what they've witnessed, unsure how they feel about the ordeal.
"Wow..."
"It's that different, huh?" The greeter asks.

Panel 6: The visitors try to explain.
"Well, first, it's ongoing with over a thousand chapters."
"Ugh, that sounds too long," the greeter says.
"Also, Luffy has rubber powers."
"Sounds lame," says the greeter.

"I've seen that you need to take your time with art.
I believe it.
I've seen you should probably limit yourself to 4-6 hours of drawing a day.
Hard to argue."

The man lays back in his chair.

"There's so much to think about now.
I'm in my 30's. Struggling to find full time.
In my 20's I envisioned myself happily married.
Making comics, movies, shows, games, not worried about money."

The man looks at his laptop. the screen shows a small album cover for a YouTube video playing. A windows says he's spent 30 minutes on something.

"I don't know how much was me being naive
versus how much as been thrown away by powerful people who don't care.

It's hard not to think about the time I have left
and become ironically paralyzed into indecision by what to do with that time."

I've been averaging about an hour for the past year.
Some weeks, I can draw every day, but not always."

The man leans back, stretching a little.

"My sessions can be as short as 5 minutes.
There was a time in high school and after I could consistently draw for 2 or 3 hours.
I can do that much, stretched across sessions. Still only seems to happen once or twice a month."

The man checks his phone.

"It's hard not to compare.
I'm not a full time artist so it's not like it's comparable."

The man whispers to himself "Damn, wish that was me."

"But it's hard not to think of artists who do 120 hours a month.
And I've been struggling with 20 or 30."

I've got a couple projects where things are plotted out, one has rough designs, scene layouts. Need to get to more finalized stages. Recently I was able to trim down a project, which I'm proud of. But it's hard to choose one to put work into and not draw random unrelated things.

For shark week, wanted to show off an OC I've been working on. Still struggling with a name for him, but I liked the idea of a sentai team comprised of ocean-themed heroes. Tho, he's quickly becoming Kamen Rider/Godzilla, but with shark themes. #art #sharkweek #ocart

As a cartoonist, the Calvin and Hobbes thing is what grabbed me, but boy, this part is also damning: “Unfortunately, as an artist, Mr. Jolley’s book features depictions of the human body that are in direct violation of the law.”

“Regarding the book written by Mr. Jolley, we were thrilled to feature a book written by an ORHS alumni on our shelves and were equally disappointed to have to remove it,” Molly Gallagher Smith, an Oak Ridge Schools spokeswoman, told WBIR. “Unfortunately, as an artist, Mr. Jolley’s book features depictions of the human body that are in direct violation of the law.”
