Picked up today in @vinylwhistle.bsky.social in Headingley. Had most of it on 12"s once, at eye watering prices from the good Golden Discs on Mary St. Hard to imagine the next 40 years without Planet Rock.
#Speirghorm Half asleep, listening to the Ryanair safety anouncement, and the phrase 'a mouthpiece for inflation or deflation' made me think of this fella.
I get confused very easily in Cork; no need for this carry on. In Dublin, we put the Northside at the top of the map .
I'm no expert, but I think it might need some actual capital as well.
Example A: 'all possible ways' should start with better, higher paid and more skilled employment, with better conditions and more flexibility. 'Full employment' with minimum wages subsidised by in work welfare is no way to create demand - or sustainable communities.
Three new doctors with their proud supervisor today - they made it through despite my help. L-R, Dr David Randall-Goddard, Dr Wing Tung Lam, Dr Wang Yafei.
The last lines of Frank Harte's sleeve notes to There's Gangs of them Digging.
Ulysses obviously, but a close second, a non-fiction companion to Joyce
I'm glad I don't work in a history dept. The humour is clearly savage.
The red and the green. Their ground isn't all that dissimilar to many LoI grounds.
I think I have @obsofdeviance.bsky.social to thank for hipping me to this. Someone I've known about forever but barely heard until now
It's odd that Veezu didn't take off in Ireland, with offers like this.
Remember computer punch cards? Inside a copy of The Death and Life etc by Jane Jacobs purchased today. Love the University of Bradford font too.
Oxfam find, though not especially cheap: OG Yoko Ono Fly with poster, inner sleeves and postcard.
Somewhat odd find in Skipton this morning - Burton Greene Quartet with Marion Brown and Henry Grimes, ESP.1967. OG
Blessed relief from the heat as Yorkshire returned to more normal June temps. The view from above Skipton
Sister establishment by the Lee (used to be the Lobby, I think?)
Suspect piece of cardboard removed from the back cover (not by me, it's secondhand)
This is ferocious. If you said it was some Ornette/ James Blood Ulmer jam from the late 70s, I'd believe you.
A dozen fascists, maybe three times that number anti fascists, and the same number of cops at Dortmund Sq in Leeds
