8/8 is coming up so I thought id make some sketches!

Shadeau wakes up, a bit confused as to why Coral is licking her. Coral panics a bit and tries to stuff Shadeau in his mouth. whole.

Coral looks very full, huffing a bit from the effort of devouring Shadeau. Shadeau herself is shown in an internal shot inside Coral, squished up inside of his stomach.

A comic sequence. Coral walks into a room, looking for Shadeau, but notices she's asleep. He puts a blanket over her, then notices the artwork she was drawing, tucked under her arm on the desk.

Coral muses on whether Shadeau will wake up or not, then slyly takes a peek at the drawings. It's a sketchpage Shadeau drew of herself, though she's considerably more fat than she usually appears. The paper is stained with Shadeau's tears.

Coral chokes up looking at the paper, a memory of a drawing he'd made when he was younger slipping into his mind.

In the memory, Amber asks to see Coral's art, and he shows them, commenting on how it's a portrait of himself when he grows up, where he'll be big and fat and awesome and evoke gender envy in everyone.

Coral's memory finishes by commenting that he'll finally be happy when he looks in the mirror when he grows up to look like his drawing.

Returning to current time, Shadeau's woken up, shock on her face as she realizes Coral is looking at her very private very personal drawings.

Working on assets for another one of my characters! This one's long overdue to be honest, considering they are the leader of the solar sailors!

New ref! This will be used for artfight this year

A reference sheet of Shadeau. She's wearing a dark band t-shirt with a comet on it, baggy cargo jeans with orange, yellow and teal star patches, and an orange jacket with the same colors in stripes. She's not wearing shoes. The two left drawings show her without her jacket and without her shirt/jacket respectively, showing the robotic seams underneath. Her hair is a jellyfish styled in a ramona flowers cut with a star-shaped bun, with the sidepieces trailing down as jellyfish tentacles.

Settled on a cute outfit

Two drawings of Shadeau with a blank expression. In the left, she's wearing blue cargo jeans with orange, yellow and teal star patches sewn on; a black shirt with a purple pattern depicting a shooting star over a grid; and a bright orange ski jacket with yellow, teal and cream-colored stripes. She has a ramona-flowers style haircut with a star-shaped ponytail; the sidepieces are her jellyfish tendrils. Stars are barely visible in the darker parts of her hair and tendrils. Parts of her skin are missing to show the gold-colored slime that makes up her body.

The right drawing is the same, except all of the colors are greyscale, with the exception of her eyes, the gold slime, and her belt buckle. In addition, the stars in her hair are now gold.

04 takes his helmet off, still unsure but willing now to come with 02. They reach for each other's hands, but a light from behind them and a loud rumble distract the pair.

A huge explosion from an orbital strike hits the forest some distance away, startling the both of them.

04 comments that the strike was where their base originally was, and 02 grabs him, running off as fast as he can muster to escape the incoming patrols.

02 looks back at the smoking wreckage, tears in his eyes as he shuts them tight and turns away. As they run through the forest, smoke trailing in the distance, several shuttles approach the strike site, inspecting the remains of what was once the rest of 02 and 04's squad.

02 eyes 04 worriedly while an announcer chides them for not paying attention. 04 returns the gaze, giving him a dazed thumbs-up. Present 02 continues to lament, saying they were always forced to choose to sacrifice themselves.

The scene returns to the present, showing 04 gripping the shoulder where they were hit by the tranquilizer dart in the past. They continue to question 02, though much more unsure now. 02 ignores it, claiming he's finally gonna choose his own path in life.

02 raises his hands to the open air, excitedly trying to convince 04 that life would be better and carefree if they left.

04 remarks to themselves that it was the first time he'd ever seen 02 smile. His resolve is broken, but he questions 02 regardless, until 02 cuts him off, begging now for 04 to come with so 02 won't have to leave knowing 04 would die eventually.

04 tries to make a run for it, but is hit by a tranquilizer dart from one of the attendants.

02 watches as 04 crumples unconscious to the floor, breathing rapidly in a panic. A shadow looms over her as another attendant approaches, and the memory is superimposed with present Kureki's speech.

The man kneels down next to Kureki, talking to her. His words are recited by present Kureki, saying that the risk of death was great, but it would be greater if they did not sacrifice themselves.

The first shot shows the man's hand outstretched towards him, then it shows 02 hooked up to several medical equipment pieces, their tail replaced with weaponized steel. The last shot shows 02 standing next to the other members of his unit. 02's expression stays consistent the entire time, a tired, startled look. 04 stands to 02's right (viewer left) in the last panel, looking dazed. Present 02 comments how their lives and deaths were never their own choices.

04, quite confused now, questions 02 on why they would abandon the people who need them. 02 counters, asking how much of that promise that he actually remembers. 04 seems a little taken aback by the prompt.

04 proudly proclaims they remember it exactly, citing how brave and ready to fight they were. 04 comments that he had to take the oath first with a smug grin, claiming 02 was scared to do so.

02, with a heavy heart, prepares to tell 04 that it wasn't the truth, but 04 cuts him off, claiming he knows already.

The scene transitions to a flashback of 04 and 02 sitting in a waiting room. Several empty chairs with other numbers are on them, and both sit quite anxiously, with 04 repeating "I don't wanna die" in his head. A hand from offscreen extends towards 04, and he slashes it with wild fear and fury.
