My Dad who spent the years of 17-22 seeing more of the world-the ugly cruel bits- than most will see in their lifetime. Here he is with grandma not knowing the horrors he will see, that no 17 year old should ever see. He did it because morally he felt he had to. RIP Dad

To all BlueSkiers who recently followed me, been in hospital for a week with a deadly “mystery disease”-horrific. It started when the deep freeze did. Not only critters try to avoid death by burrowing into your home but arachnids do, too. I’m allergic to many things…now spider bites. My knee. Ugh.

Thanks for reminding me. I only remember bits about WWII now because it is so traumatic to contemplate. I watched Shoah as a young film student and that did me in. My dad is also a Navy veteran who was assigned to the Pacific theater. His story of arriving at Tokyo is haunting. He’s just 17 here.

My cat, a Norwegian Forest Cat with white fur and tree bark camouflage, has one yellow eye and one blue. Inherited from Mom. She used to be a big fluff ball in the winter. She’s elderly now, her inner clock still working at the top of her voice, and she is in charge of the dogs. Very pretty, too!
