Abbey Gardens Labyrinth Afternoons will take place on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 July from 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm. Labyrinths are structures used as a spiritual exercise. You'll find it behind the ruins of the abbey crypt, near the playground. Canon Mark will be available during this time.

All Saints Episcopal Church Choir from Jacksonville, Florida, USA, will be our visiting choir from July 13-19, joining us for services. Do come along and support them while they're here!

The Ukrainian Community in Bury St Edmunds has been meeting every weekend at the Cathedral to connect with their cultural heritage at the newly formed Ukrainian Hub. Last weekend they were joined by the Mayor, Deputy Mayor and our own Canon Katy to celebrate their remarkable start.

Today the church remembers and give thanks for St Benedict, who is remembered as the Father of Western Monasticism. Whilst he never intended to start a widespread monastic order, his Rule for Monks was so good that it become the model for Western Monasticism.

Installation work has begun on our solar panel project! 72 panels will be fitted to the Nave South Aisle and Lady Chapel roofs. This project marks a significant milestone in the Cathedral’s commitment to sustainability. You can find out more about the project on our website.

July’s Dogs of the Cathedral Calendar model is Koda the Llewellyn Setter. Koda was very nervous about her modelling debut so we decided to take her outside to the south lawn and let her run around and have fun! Dogs are welcome at the Cathedral, if they are well-behaved and, on a lead. 🐕‍🦺

That’s a wrap: 2026 ordination retreat and ordinations are done! It’s been a privilege to journey with our ordinands these past few days and now we have 9 new deacons and 13 new priests in the Church of God. Official photos to follow in the next couple of days.

Today, Saturday 27 June, the Norman Tower Bellringers will be ringing from 1.15 pm until 2.15 pm to celebrate the Ordinations of Deacons and Priests that are taking place in the Cathedral. The ringers wish everyone success in their new roles.

Bishop Joanne has been with us on the pre-ordination retreat today, meeting individually with those being ordained. This evening, set within Compline, she gave the Bishop’s Charge. Please keep the ordinands in your prayers tonight and tomorrow, as well as Bishop Joanne as she ordains them.
