and we could see Venus during the total eclipse 😍 — look for the tiny bright dot up and left

Zoomed out view of total solar eclipse over the ocean. The sky is greyish blue and aside from the total eclipse (black center and bright corona), Venus appears as a tiny bright dot in the top left of the frame. There is land in the foreground and a crowd of onlookers with cell phones that light up like fireflies. Eclipse was one hour before sunset so there is yellow glow near horizon.

Amazing experience to see the total eclipse from the coast of Spain 🌑🥹 I was worried about the weather but we got lucky 🤩

Had a fulfilling, fun visit at the Univ of Wyoming to give their astronomy colloquium and meet with students & faculty. Got to see the lucky T-rex — students throw pine cones in its mouth for "good luck" on their exams😂. Thanks to Yufeng for the invitation and showing me a glimpse of the landscape!
