I had the exact same last year, this one and then not far out of frame to the right there was another and it struggled all year, only got about 4' and might have had 4 blooms??
One of these car battery jumper packs (or the kind that also has a little air compressor), they've saved me and a few friends several times (not tied to a particular brand, this is just the first pic that came up)
I caught one napping on a marigold by my tomatoes after a rainstorm the other day
Ok I did forget about the grow lights on the shelves like under it? So it's getting more light than I was thinking 💀 (ignore the crusty calathea, seasonal depression had *hands* this year lol)
Oh they're so tiny 😍 I've only seen the standard kind (like this one in my yard, about 3-4" across)
I looked to see if it was like a subdivision or artists' commune or something and....no, not even close 💀 I assume it's people at the prison but also "special needs facility" in TN right next to a prison feels a little ominous
I went to a local native plant sale (Oklahoma z7) this weekend, got a nice little haul and planted most of them in my front flower bed 🌱 plant varieties best I can remember in the alt text #GardensHour
I had a ton of different butterflies and some hummingbirds aaallll over my zinnias last year, including this incredible dude that was quite a bit bigger than my hand! Easily 6"+ wingspan. Plus the zinnias are tough as hell, super easy, and make great cutting flowers, 10/10 recommend for everyone lol
I think the one I'm nost excited for is the Woolly Dutchman's Pipevine, partly because it just looks weird and cool but mostly because it's the main host for the Blue Pipevine Swallowtail butterfly that I have tattooed on my leg 😅
SaY gOoDbYe To YoUr AcCoUnT or whatever it is you think mods do here lol
I love the cheery colors my flowers bring to the garden & inside, and I'm obsessed with all the different butterflies, bugs, and birds they draw in 🥰 see alt text for plant & insect IDs #GardensHour
We have a neighborhood clan of them and always have at least one or two pairs nesting in the tree in our backyard 🥰 this was from last winter, and this dude was noticeably brighter than his siblings for some reason
We ended up with 7" of snow with some sleet layers in Norman, plus some mustachecicles from shoveling
