Been reading this book for a month, not because it’s been a chore, but because I’ve been savoring it the way King Sorrow savors the blood, screams and terror of his victims. Loving every page of this fine Faustian tale from Mr. Hill. 🐉
Book #58 of 2026 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Rereading Jasper Fforde’s Thursday Next series before the final book drops in October. Great world building and and a basketful of Easter eggs for book lovers.
Early birthday present for myself! And I already have enough books to fill it! 🙂 📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚📚
In honor of the release of the new Evil Dead film, I’m going to spend a groovy evening with Ash Williams. “Hail to the king, Baby!”
Good morning Womble! Just started King Sorrow by Joe Hill, and am rereading The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde as part of my big Thursday Next reread before the final book drops later this year.
Book #57 of 2026 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My first Kylie Lee Baker book, and it was great. A fantastic ghost story that deeply affected me on so many levels, as it takes place during the Covid pandemic, and as someone who worked on the front lines, this book was like therapy. Will definitely be reading more from her.
I’ll be reading Bat Eater And Other Names For Cora Zeng by Kylie Lee Baker and continuing my reread of Jasper Fforde’s Thursday Next series.
Really want to read Joe Hill’s King Sorrow, Mark Danielewski’s Tom’s Crossing and The Rouse by China Mieville this year, but that’s a total of 3388 pages in total for all three!!! 😱The entire Lord Of The Rings trilogy only comes in at about 1200 pages, and my TBR mountain will not be happy.
Book #56 of 2026 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A reread. T.J. Klune’s heartwarming and joyous tale of found family at the Marsyas Island Orphanage in a world where magical beings exist alongside regular folk, is a joy to read. Linus, Arthur, and all of the kids are a delight, and I’m so happy there is a sequel.
Out today- Robert McCammon’s Shoppe Of Olde Curiosities: Stories. Having read and loved his only other short story collection Blue World a few years back, this was an instant purchase! #booksky
Book #55 of 2026 ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 An intriguing standalone tale of near immortal CEO overlords, corporate espionage, and Samurai/assassin troubleshooters on a far off space colony cut off from Earth for generations. Great world building and a great mystery, but a bit longer than it needed to be.
Finishing up the latest Fonda Lee poolside today. Nice day, great book!

Morning Womble! I’m currently reading The Last Contract Of Isako by Fonda Lee.
Book #52 of 2026 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A return to form for this long running series. Lost so much of my interest after the mess that was Battleground, but that interest has been restored. I loved this.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Over the top violent, and funny as hell! One of the best installments of this long running series in a while. Hap and Leonard have brought me so much joy and I’m sure going to miss them when they hopefully get to retire in the final book to come- Petrified Dreams. Lord knows they’ve earned it.
#bookmail Adding to my Mike Mignola collection, and Matt Fraction and Jorge Jimenez’s run on Batman has been awesome!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ to book #49 My kind of off the rails, whacked out, thought provoking take on the superhero genre. Completely lived up to the hype for me, and I’ll definitely be reading the second half of this classic Grant Morrison run soon.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ to book #48 of 2026- The Heart Is A Mirror For Sinners And Other Stories by Angela Slatter. Slatter has quickly become a favorite and this beautiful short story collection, with an awesome Daniele Serra cover, is a perfect place to start if you’re new to her work.
#bookmail Saga Deluxe Edition Vol 4 by Brian K Vaughan and Fiona Staples. Probably one more volume needed to finish out the series. Just hope I live long enough to see it!
Reading The Heart Is A Mirror for Sinners And Other Stories by Angela Slatter, and every story is a winner so far. Also reading Animal Man by Grant Morrison.
Book #47 of 2026 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ on the reread! And now I’m all ready for book 2- The Tapestry Of Fate.
Lucky day continues! Just found a copy of The Sourdough Compendium by @angelaslatter.bsky.social out four days early, as well!
