I'm only a couple of hours into this book (about 20%) and this story of single use plastics is disturbing. How many times over - New tech. Investment in technology Invest in convincing people it'll make life better Briefly it makes like better Behind the scenes it's poisoning life and destroying
My fruit and veg might still need watering, but I'm building soil as I go and helping to feed wild life. It's good food. I can still do better in growing sympathetically with nature but I'm making progress. Every growing season gives feedback.
Reminds me of my visit to Sylvia Plath's grave. You can just about see the pens on the top. I did feel bad for the people whose graves get trampled to get to hers. Looks like those near L. M. Montgomery don't have the same issue thankfully.
My bird planted sunflowers. These are descendants from the sunflowers I first planted in 2019. They produce these fantastic tall and big headed flowers. And the bees like them (there's two bees in the second photo). It's hard to not love time on the plot when shared with these gorgeous flowers.
Dartmoor does do a very good job of looking beautiful in the summer evenings.
The first tomatoes of the year. And the first harvest of the year big enough to need a box to carry it home. Broad beans, lettuce, tomatoes, radish, courgette, French beans, AND blackberries and blueberries
I think these work men (I'm presuming, after having seen them at lunch) had one of the next work views with this job. However they did have to deal with silly tourists and silly questions while they tried to eat their lunch.
Another photo from my trip this week. This time by the war memorial in Clovelly. It was rather lovely just walking in from where I was staying a couple of miles away. Perfect spot for an ice cream.
I do enjoy taking photos of people I know taking photos of beautiful landscapes. I think it makes for a more interesting photo. Also, the next time I go to Hartland Quay I'm paying to drive down and park at the bottom, rather than walk back up.

I am very bad at garden planning. And marking what I've planted. So I've taken to taking photos and marking them up/annotating the photos. I can be my chaotic self, with no bits of plastic around the place as labels.
I'm still on (see photo), but my reserve for Yesteryear audio book has also come through. So a bit of both.
Also this is what they call a scone for a cream tea. Yes I did but it and eat it. Because I like scones, even if they don't know how one should be prepared.

Well that's surprising no one. I did enjoy the time I've spent in Germany. With the rules that made sense.
I recently had to delay things being planted properly in the greenhouse, for a few days. Before I left I moved everything to the bathroom, watered them, and wished them well.
So 'fun' story. One of the experts she worked with was (I believe) Bruce Bradley. Who is talked about in the book below due to his idea about people travelling to north America from Europe during the late palaeolithic (and being the first there).

It's my dog's birthday. He did wild zoomies with his new toys this morning. He was booked for a group walk with his dog walker, so he should be tired and happy this evening. It's a dog's life.
I can report that my tomatoes growing in a seed snail are doing better than those potted into traditional pots. Less space, less compost, easier to move around.
I've been checking regularly to see if Yesterday had been added to my local borrowbox. Just checked again, and it has, but also, a 24+ month wait already.
We did travel all the way to Scotland to see The High Life on stage. I want to say that I LOVED how they included the BSL interpreters. Costumes, sometimes part of the action, even at times part of the joke set up (in a good way). And I got a little emotional at the rainbow lighting.
This is the original pair. They still get used for in the garden. They have been stitched back together after I sliced through some of the leather. They're not really waterproof on account of the holes and the soles worn through. But they are not really worse than the 2019 pair aside from looks.
