Hoping this doesn't sound callous, but it's war, a *real* war, after a handful of American soldiers die--and the price of gasoline rises by 13 cents. Can #America consider any other than its own myopic perspective?
Honestly, I can't recall where I read this. Prob Heather Cox Richardson? Anyway, it's a bad joke when two of the most unattractive men in history start calling those of us on the left 'ugly deformed freaks' and 'all deformed in some way'. When did they last look in the mirror?
We know this & need to be ready to resist. From the 18 July Guardian:
Perhaps perversely, I'm glad that this July 4 has arrived in the midst of widespread delirium, as it gives us a chance to reconnect with historical realities. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
This 2-YO file photo was used by #MLive to illustrate an article about need to carefully wash fresh fruit in order to avoid ingesting bacteria. Shame on MLive & shame on 'vendors' & 'consumers' who associates fresh fruit with plastic containers.
#BBC might want to reconsider its partnership with #CBS. Especially with respect to accuracy of CBS news reports on the #Trump #Whitehouse.
What is it with mainstream media publishing pictures of women with long hair hanging around their face and shoulders in stories about keeping cool? This is absurd. This from the Beeb on Thursday.
Not having long, heavy hair hanging down one's back prob would relieve some heat-related discomfort. This pic is from today's Guardian..
Starmer has the dignity and integrity to consider resigning. But Trump, who has neither (along with intelligence, morals, compassion, and sense of justice among other qualities) is the one who should resign. Or step in front of a bus.
From issue 1677 of #PrivateEye. I hope they don't mind me posting it, but I've all along thought that present-day white nationalists in the US don't get the irony of their condemning immigrants. (And sorry to say my family were among some of the earliest immigrants--in 1635.)
More Trump corruption. And, what? The possibility of renewed conflict in Bosnia? www.theguardian.com/world/2026/j...
So much for 250 years of American liberty. No need to identify the speaker.
www.theguardian.com/science/2026... Babies, air con, et al. There seems no way stopping the rich in their pursuit of superior lives.
www.bbc.co.uk/travel/artic... American society is a frightened society.
From today's Guardian. Reference, if explanation is needed, is to the Cerne Giant. Who's having his chalk restored.
The wonder of these complicated roses (I have no idea what they're actually called) is that they are gorgeous at every stage of bloom.
#HarrisonFord quoted in today's #Guardian article about prime minsterial ambitions, written by #StefanStern
As noted elsewhere, I've volunteered for Labour and still support the party. But I also think that they need to embrace pluralism and support #proportional.representation. See quote from NS article by #AnthonyBarnett
If you know any #MAGA thralls who didn't hear Trump's message about not thinking about Americans' economic situation--force them to read Heather Cox Richardson's May 15 newsletter.
Voters might want change, but I cannot believe they want the shitstorm that has been unleashed in US.
