While Dr. Bowow has a different name and different role in the game, I'm pretty sure Professor Bomb is a stand-in for him in Sword of Mana, borrowed heavily from Legend of Mana. This sprite of him looks hairy and round, like Prof Bomb. #JRPGJuly

Dark Lord is dead, but Julius has become the new Big Bad. Also, this is an interesting difference between this game and Sword of Mana. On this game, Julius is the last member of the Vandole Empire. In SoM, he's Emperor Vandole's reincarnation. #JRPGJuly

This is a sad scene, bit two things take me out of it: Medusa's name is typoed as "Madusa." Also, I have to wonder if the tears were originally blood in the Japanese version. It was Medusa/Amanda's blood in Sword of Mana. Is this early censorship, or was it changed to be more dramatic?

Davias has a slight nane change in Sword of Mana: Devius. I suppose because it looks like the word "devious."
