Today we’re at JAXA (Japan’s NASA) and guess who is much more excited about this than any of the kids. Logo photo taken right outside of active Mission Control room (where we were not allowed to photograph.)
We went to the Hachiko statue the other day and I thought about the Hachiko story and then I thought about the Seymour episode of Futurama and then I literally had to walk away from the group to compose myself before I just started crying in front of a group of teenagers.

Today’s Japan adventure: Secundus and I checked out 6 different stores in Akihabara (40 total floors of searching) through hundreds of aisles of anime stuff to find one specific figure. And we found it. On the last floor of the very last store that we had time to visit. Epic victory.
We made it to Tokyo! but between jet lag, the language barrier, and trying to remember and respect cultural norms, I am off to a rough start. Hoping things look better in the morning when I haven’t spent 14 hours on a plane.
