Candidate for RI Lt. Governor Providence City Councilor
Q2 finance reports are out. I am proud that for the second quarter in a row, we had the most individual contributions & half of our donations are $50 or less. This is truly a people-powered campaign — not bought by special interests. I’ll always have your back and I’m so grateful you have mine.
There are only 6 more weeks until the primary — I need your help getting our message out to voters across the state! Click the link in my bio/description to chip in today, and share this video with 5 of your friends! secure.actblue.com/donate/sue_j...
Love Bradly! He co-hosted a house party for my LG race! We got to know each other running for Council!
Thank you Steve Klamkin for a great conversation about why I’m running to be our next Lt Governor & the big issues I will tackle once elected! lprnews.org/la-politica-...
Chansareth Hong is one of PVD’s own. He’s lived here for nearly his whole life. He is being detained by ICE & I joined neighbors and his family to let them know that I have their back and to ask for his immediate return. He cares his elderly mother and son after losing his father & wife.
Updating and upgrading the courts behind Nathan Bishop has a been a real labor of love the last two years -- and we are finally ready to cut the ribbon and start playing! Come join me & Providence City Councilor Jill Davidson to celebrate the re-opening of the courts behind Nathan Bishop!
Marcia Ranglin-Vassell is a public school teacher & a fierce and kind advocate. She was an amazing State Rep, fighting for kids & working families & the environment. I am SO honored and grateful to have her support in this campaign to be our next Lt Governor!
🚨 Endorsement Alert 🚨 🚨 I am so honored to be endorsed by Rep Brandon Potter. Rep. Potter has been so effective at passing meaningful policy and earning the respect and support of his constituents and RIers across the State.
As your next Lt Governor, I will stand up to RI Energy for cleaner & more affordable energy - just like I’ve done countless times throughout my career and won.
Beautiful day to be out talking with neighbors in Newport with former Mayor Jamie Bova! Lots of great conversations - folks excited to talk about environmental & energy policy. I loved when a new friend Steve grabbed his utility bill to show how he pays nothing now that his solar is up & running!
Moratoriums on utility shut offs are now only for winter months. As we head into the first major heat wave this summer - I’m hearing from elderly neighbors losing their electricity. It’s a dangerous situation. I’m fighting back - and I hope you’ll join me.
We will be in every corner of the state over the next week gathering signatures to get on the ballot! Over the next few days, here are some places to find us! Please join us & sign to ensure we are on the ballot!
Captain Ruggles over here helping us meet our end of quarter fundraising goals! We are so close! Maybe you can chip in today? secure.actblue.com/donate/sue-a...
Our State is at a crossroads. While our energy bills keep rising, we see an executive branch entire captured by the utility - the recent veto of legislation requiring basic tracking and reporting of energy use is just the latest example. m.youtube.com/watch?v=3UDE...
Yard signs are here & popping up across the State! Request yours here: forms.gle/5M6WP7LNNFFs...
So proud to share the endorsements from 10 current and former elected officials whose work and values I deeply admire and respect.
The best decision I ever made was to marry my husband Scott. 19 years ago on the CA coast, at just 24 years old, I got to marry my college sweetheart and ❤️ of my life. There’s so much we couldn’t predict about where our lives would go, but we are grateful every day that life brought us here!
The RI Democratic Committee voted to make no endorsement in the Lt Governor’s race - as a candidate who is not a party insider, I wasn’t expecting to be endorsed. But this shows that this race is wide open!
Update: Governor McKee’s attempts to remove me from the RI Energy Efficiency Council have been unsuccessful! Thank you to Pat Crowley and the AFL-CIO & Emily Koo of the Acadia Center for testifying - and to the Senate for not voting to replace me!
Today I found out Governor McKee is replacing me on the Energy Efficiency Council. I have been publicly fighting back against his proposed cuts to clean energy and energy efficiency- which would drive up our energy costs and leave us over-reliant on expensive gas.
Steve’s endorsement means a great deal to me. As an independent journalist, he has been stalwart in being a voice for folks often ignored - our unhoused neighbors, our trans community, folks experiencing environmental injustice — and he’s never been afraid to call out leaders and politicians.
What is the Green Revolving Fund & why is it so important to Providence?
Passed! The federal and state govt may have turned their backs on clean energy & the good, local jobs it supports — but in Providence, we are all in on saving $ for our taxpayers, supporting good jobs & protecting the environment!
Happy Mothers Day to all the moms & mother figures. Special shout out to my own mom, Liz, who has always been the hardest working person I know. Sending extra love to folks for whom this day is challenging.
Can’t wait for our next Ward 3 Community meeting next week! See you Saturday at the Mount Hope Community Center! Special guests to discuss traffic calming on Hope, the sale of the Rochambeau Fire Station, and the plan for PPSD with school board president Ty’Relle Stephens!
