Don't forget the Beer Reviewed Science event today in Ballard. Today is month two of Disaster Summer with Dr. Ashley Vaughn discussing the mosquito vector of disease focused on Malaria. Remember, mosquitos don't want you to know the TRUTH!

On April 1, Artemis II lifted off for a 10-day mission around the moon. They captured incredible images of the moon's far side, like the one here. This mission shows what is possible when governments fund science, curiosity is allowed to flourish, and the public believes in the power of science!
A huge thank you to Dr. Sodora for presenting at BRS last night! We had a great community turn out to learn about his work in HIV research and thoughts on the re-emergence of measles. He concluded with an apt reminder that he could do this work and share it with us because: “Vaccines make adults.”

Pacific Science Center CEO Will Daugherty opened the 2026 Stand Up For Science - Washington rally with a defense of curiosity and critical thinking, as civic acts.
Darrick Carter, a biochemist and biophysicist who has founded companies aimed at developing vaccines and biologics for diseases in developing countries, spoke to the devastation that greed and misinformation is having on biomedical research and infrastructure.
Seattle Councilmember Rinck reminds us, “When people in power decide that data is optional, that scientific consensus is a matter of opinion...they are saying, ‘Trust us, not your own eyes. Trust our own instincts, not the evidence. Trust our power, not the truth.’”
