A chilling reminder that things are not normal or okay, seen on our way to dinner last night, on the corner of Woolsey and Telegraph in Berkeley. (Alt text widget not working for me so: A sidewalk with “ICE TOOK A NEIGHBOR HERE” written on it in white chalk)
The terrible UX design on this new $25 eyeshadow palette that I just bought is galling. I didn’t notice the “face pigment” mention, and the warning/ key once you open it is hard to read. Who uses those colors elsewhere on their face? Also, if you must do this, why are they scattered around??
I went out dancing with friends last night for the first time in awhile, and I had the best time!! I really should go do this sort of thing more often; I love joyous cardio!
Happy Boxing Day!Yesterday we hosted friends & family for a delicious Christmas dinner & then I trounced everyone in Drawful, twice! Oh and cool gifts were exchanged, good conversation. Today my body has reminded me that we do not eat that much rich food in one day anymore; what was I thinking?!
All of these ornaments are mine except for one that belongs to @timpratt.org … can you guess which one?
I’ve spotted two masc-presenting ballet dancers on BART lately. The other one was doing tendus and ronde de jambs, this one was just sitting like this for the longest time… (I actually missed the perfect turnout — right before this they were a perfect second position.)
Overheard while walking by San Francisco Union Square’s big holiday tree “It’s giving Rockefeller Center”
Absolutely delicious Ethiopian food from Meskie’s Ethiopia Restaurant last night. This is the Filsseta Combo with Tofu Tibs and shiro we’t, which the waitress said was “like hummus” but it was even better! Probably shouldn’t have had leftovers for breakfast though; my body’s got a limit on injera!
I waited 9 minutes to take a later train so that I could listen to this on my commute home tonight. What a lovely voice! I seriously almost cried, the music contained such emotion. Love moments like this. 🥰 Candence Myles www.facebook.com/cadencemyles...
This is what the resort’s quiet, adults-only pool looked like to me during the day. We posted up by this one pretty much every day because the other four pools were full of screaming kids (and probably pee).
So we’re back from six days at an all-inclusive resort in Puerto Vallarta, paid for by @timpratt.org getting surprise option money. Now I can safely post about it without risking somebody coming by to steal the cat.
I had no idea iguanas came in so many different colors (if they are all iguanas… they don’t exactly come labeled in the wild/ running free around Mexican resorts).
I’ve lived more than half my life out here and yet I still get all excited at palm trees mixed with the holidays. You can take the girl outta Indiana… Also I was not expecting the rain in SF because it was so sunny in Berkeley when I left. Microclimates are so weird.
This is taken through the slanted front glass window of an art gallery near where I work. I really like the painting, but now I’m also digging the reflection of the street in the glass.
We just got back from a four-park (three of which are National Parks, which our son is collecting) vacation! Day one: Avenue of the Giants on our drive up to Eureka (to see and stay with friends who recently moved)! Tiny people in huge trees photos were achieved.
