haven’t been able to do much unpacking at my new house but i’m here with my dogs and they have Concerns about the state of things

a poorly-lit photo of two medium sized dogs laying on a bare mattress. there’s moving boxes and bags in the background. one dog, luna, is brown, lean, and pointy. the other dog, stella, is white with some tan dapples, and will be more muscled once she’s fully fed up after being a rescued stray. stella’s paw is resting on top of luna’s as if they’re holding hands. both have concerned looks on their faces and stella is looking at the photographer (me, her mother) as if saying “surely we’re not going to live HERE.”

The Pyramids of Egypt were not constructed with slave labor. Archaeological evidence shows that the laborers were a combination of skilled workers and poor farmers working in the off-season with the participants paid in high-quality food and tax exemptions. The idea that slaves were used originated with Herodotus, and the idea that they were Israelites arose centuries after the pyramids were constructed.

finally got around to actually putting the fake nails i painted for pride on my fingers and after doing the left hand i am not sure i’m gonna do the right bc i might need to try shorter falsies first lol. gonna try it in my right but might have to give up 😂

“medium” sized false nails (according to the packaging) in an oval shape, painted with Asexual pride colors. The thumb is the flag stripes (black, grey, white, and purple). Pointer is black with white dots. Middle is grey with a purple heart. Ring is white with ace colours glitter. Pinky is just purple.

something is obviously very broken in how americans in general are behaving at medical facilities because both the hospital where my dad had surgery last week and the rheumatologist where my mom has an appointment today have messages like this up:

Sign in the waiting area at a rheumatology clinic. The sign reads “Our facility is a healing environment. Aggressive behavior will not be tolerated.
Examples of behavior not tolerated:

Haven’t actually stuck them on to my nails yet because I’m waiting until I finish painting the office/guest room in my new house, but I made myself a set of Ace-themed press-on nails for Pride! Not bad for my first try! (product list in alt text for all my polish peeps!)

A set of press-on nails which I painted myself using regular nail lacquer. They’re still stuck to the cheap nail stands I bought off Amazon. The thumb nails are Ace flags, pointer nails are black with white dots, middle nails are grey with purple free-handed hearts, ring nails are white with ace colors glitter, and pinky nails are just purple.

luna is not enjoying the midnight frenzy. no barking, but intermittent shaking, tail between her legs, can’t decide if she wants to hide under my desk or in her crate. currently cuddling the comfort toy in her crate while i sit next to it and pet her. poor puppy 🥺
