Every time the Welsh Government, of whichever flavour, puts a statement out about what they're going to do to support the Welsh language, they seem to forget about adult learners and especially intermediate adult learners. But they won't hit their target without us. ymestyn.cymru/2026/07/13/t...
Threw a sheet on the sofa because the nap of the fabric was making me too hot, and the cats have colonised.
Our own cats are/were the late Sir Izacat Mewton, who discovered @grabbity.bsky.social. Plus we have Copurrnicus who discovered the feline-centric model of the Solar System. And why yes, this is just a feeble excuse to share cat pics.
Oh yes, absolutely. We had Fluffbomb, then Fluffbomb 1 and 2 when we realised the cat we thought was one cat was two cats, but they are really called Cloud and Luna. Then there's Mr Beef Cheeks, The Ginger Ninja, The Ninja Whinger (ginge and white), and Basement Cats 1 & 2.
@grabbity.bsky.social and Copurrnicus definitely know where the aircon is, and therefore where the coolest part of the house is.
The master at work! We did have to do a quality control test on the smallest tail bit, and I can confirm that it is delicious.
some 1799-1803 Shakespeares, so 220-ish yo, but they don't get used every day. But the actual oldest thing in the house is a serpentinite rock from The Lizard, used as a door stop atm, which is 400 million years old.
Copurrnicus went and sat in some cold, mucky moss yesterday and this morning, spurning our nice comfortable bed in our one A/C'd room.
I love it when I come into the bedroom and the cats are having a sly cuddle like this.
Because what I need whilst I'm laying on the bed in the only room with aircon trying to just get at least something done this afternoon is 7kg of hot cat on my chest. And not just hot cat, hot cat that wants fusses.
Serving food to Grabbity on the bed (red duster because she’s a messy eater), because she sensibly won’t leave the airconned bedroom.
Went out for dinner and got really hot so sat myself down in front of the aircon unit to cool down. Obviously that was a sign for 5kg of hot cat to come and sit on me.
Oh, no, I’m completely wrong. Copurrnicus’s brain has melted and he’s decided that by the gate in a pile of manky moss is the best place to be.
Two new sections on payhip.com/ymestyn available now, going through the simple past (inflected preterite) of gwneud (to do, to make) and cael (to get). Learn some vocab, use these essential verbs in context, and practice reading, listening and writing! That completes the simple past of...
@kevglobal.bsky.social's zuppe inglese underwent some very rapid not-entirely-unscheduled disassembly.
I love the Bayeaux tapestry, especially the names and decorations underneath! And especially especially Mabel, who was the only one not to go with vines, flowers and scrolls.
