Emjay bravely guards the house from the rabbits across the road and the squirrels stealing nuts in the garden. She’s super effective! She’s getting more comfortable in her forever home, to the point where she’s stealing @raymondnichols.bsky.social’s side of the bed! #dogsofbluesky
We are at full sploot! This is not a drill! Emjay has achieved full sploot! #dogsofbluesky
Emjay sitting in her very cute way, posing for photos. Over the last two months we’ve realized what a polite pup she is. She’s very patient, but that sometimes leads to her not letting us know she needs to go for a wee, so we have to pay close attention to her. #dogsofbluesky
Emjay is preparing to sing you the song of her people, which this week is Among the Living by Anthrax with food-related lyrics. 🤘🏻 🎶Some treats! Some treats! I would like some treats! I would like some duck and beef, they would make me very pleased!🎶 #dogsofbluesky #pupsaremetalAF
Our little emo Emjay couldn’t see through her bangs, so it was time for her first grooming. We had to wait until the doughnut of bravery was off, and the tangles it left behind were huge! She was so calm, except for the nail cutting part, and sat pretty for the last photo. #dogsofbluesky
The world’s tiniest sheepdog or Maltese in need of a cut? #dogsofbluesky
Please welcome little Emjay! She’s just turned four. She’s an absolute sweetie pie, very cuddly, incredibly snuggly. Such a happy girl! Emjay joined us in mid-April, and continues to help us cope with the unexpected loss of our baby Sasja in March. #dogsofbluesky
Sasja is all smiles after her spa day. She had the world - bath, fur-cut, ears cleaned, and teeth brushed. She’s as soft and cuddly as she looks! Sadly, today is Farting Friday, and Sasja has been an active participant, so not so fresh-smelling. 😝 #dogsofbluesky
Little Sasja is enjoying the super sunny January afternoon during this sunny patch we’re having up here in the Fraser Valley. She’s a bit sleepy today - she was playing paws to the wall at day care yesterday - so we enjoyed so many cuddles. #dogsofbluesky
Sasja wishes you all a Happy Boxing Day! We feasted, we snacked, we watched as many MST3K Christmas movies as we can, and we had a turkey dinner with lovely sandwiches to come. Seems pretty perfect to me! 🎄 Hope you and yours had great fun! #dogsofbluesky
Happy Won’t Look Wednesday! Sasja is not looking in her new sweater, that sadly unravelled after one wearing, but was still very cute. Fortunately, she has a few other festive fits she can wear over this holiday season and beyond! #dogsofbluesky
My wonderful husband, @raymondnichols.bsky.social, has been learning more about photography this year, and took this photo of Sasja in a pensive moment on a recent walk. No doubt she’s pondering big issues like, “Where is my treat?” and “Where is my treat?” #dogsofbluesky
Sasja just heard the words, “Do you want to go to the forest?” and is hoping this means a fun morning at Hillkeep Regional Park on Chilliwack Mountain! We are thimbleberries and were attacked by mosquitos, but a fun time was had by all. #dogsofbluesky
It was a little warmer than Sasja expected on our forest walk. We were taking photos of hair and beard oils for my latest formulating e-book, and before we knew it was 30°C! Not good for little pups, so we picked her up and ran home quickly. Eek! #dogsofbluesky
Sasja is in her element in the forest trail behind our house as Raymond takes photos for my new e-book, out tomorrow on my site. So many interesting smells to find today, including wild cherries, thimbleberries, and salmon berries.
Sasja is clearly enjoying the milder weather as we sit outside on the patio, enjoying a boba tea. I put the bed on the table to arrange our stuff, but she cuddled in for the afternoon. She’s just about ready for her kicky summer ‘do from her amazing groomer, Chow Bella! #dogsofbluesky
That one is the Chilliwack Community Forest. We’ve also done Chilliwack Mountain, called Hillkeep Regional Park. You can do more than 1.5 km on it. And there’s a lookout point where you can see all the Valley. We loved that one too! www.fvrd.ca/EN/main/park...
That’s it! This one is my favourite so far! Green trails are the easy ones, we had great fun! There’s a picnic area on Three Bears, but no garbage cans or bathrooms beyond the parking lot. We tried a blue one called Slug trail, and it was a bit much for me. The hills were higher.
Chemistry Dog is all snuggled into my lap as I tap out posts for my site and e-book with one finger on my iPad because there’s only space for Sasja on my lap! Photo by @raymondnichols.bsky.social #dogsofbluesky
Sasja having the best hike ever at Rolley Lake provincial park in Mission, BC! At 3.66 km, it’s her (and my) longest hike ever! It’s a beautiful, easy walk around the lake. @raymondnichols.bsky.social has a new camera, so he took some great photos, including this one. #dogsofbluesky
Sasja the forest dog after a 1.5 km walk/hike at Chilliwack Mountain, ready for a bit more fun! She’s loving these trips - she’s practically dragging us through the forests, up and down the hills, such a happy little pup. #dogsofbluesky
Uh oh, no winter hike for you today, forest dog! We had a weird snowstorm on Thursday that turned to rain later that day, but clearly the Chilliwack Community Forest hadn’t defrosted by the next day. We tried for about 200 m, but realized it was too slippery. #dogsofbluesky
Sasja had a big, tiring, fun day on Saturday at Syexw Cho:leqw park - 20 km east of Agassiz on Hwy 7 - walking the trails, looking at the art work, reading the stories of First Nations’ people of the area. Definitely so much more to explore there! #dogsofbluesky
Sasja isn’t sure about snow. She doesn’t hate it, she doesn’t love it, so she has to go out every 15 minutes to investigate what exactly it is. ❄️
After our hike the other day, Sasja had the biggest pup cup she’d ever seen at Triple O’s! Cream flying all over the car - on the seats, the console, Raymond’s pants - as she took huge licks of her treat! Delicious! #dogsofbluesky #tongueoutTuesday
A big hike yesterday in the Chilliwack Community Forest on the trails created by devoted volunteers! Sasja had great fun with all the new smells and crinkly leaves. Over 3 km! And we stopped for a pup cup afterwards! #dogsofbluesky
Sasja after grooming, just about to launch into some post-bath zoomies, eagerly waiting for her daddy to show off how pretty she looks. She’s just so soft and cuddly! #dogsofbluesky
Sasja has learned if she sits very politely and patiently, she may get a tiny piece of bacon during breakfast. Yep, she had some bacon! #dogsofbluesky
It’s winter pyjama time at our house for a few more days. Sasja’s enjoying a cuddle as I write up a formulating series for my site with one finger on my iPad because I just can’t bear to move her to use my laptop. (4,000+ words yesterday! Woo hoo!) #dogsofbluesky
Happy New Year! We had a lovely walk with Sasja on New Year’s Eve on the new path being created along the creek behind our house. The weather has been amazing the last few weeks, blue, cloudless skies and bright sunny days - perfect pup walking weather! #dogsofbluesky
