He takes advantage, though. Leans forward, stretches, rolls his shoulders. Breathes in and out, slow and certain, and then opens his eyes, zeroing in immediately on the alphas in the room he knows from scent alone are looking to cause problems.

And then he growls.

It's a rumbling, deep and low in the back of his throat. The sort of alpha posturing that used to piss Kid the fuck off when they were younger and their age difference meant more; back when Kid had barely hit puberty and Killer's growl was enough to get him to submit like an omega.

It's been a number of years since he's been able to make Kid submit in any way, but that doesn't mean Killer doesn't try still when they spar. And he can tell his growl still gets a rise out of Kid, even if his captain doesn't want to own up to it.

But in this room of what basically amounts to civilians?

Killer's alpha growl is enough to strike the fear of the gods in the hearts of just about everyone.
