You really don't see that you are one of them, do you? In both of these screenshots you are putting judgement on people without even trying to represent their angle and judge them based on that. You can read the alt-s where I explain what your comments look like to me. I like to try understanding.

The source material is the source material, unless you have specifically asked the author or some form of information provided by the author you are as good at representing what it means as anybody else interacting with it. Not all reading comes from nit-picking, but a lot of nit-picking comes from different readings and how that correlates with someone's experience and feelings. A lot of the people criticizing Frieren possibly love or really enjoy the anime as you could see even from the answers to your comment, but also noticed that it tackles things that are adjacent to things that might need to be talked about as the anime itself is not talking much about them. I myself say that it COULD have been explained, but not SHOULD have been explained in it... and maybe it will be explained better, I do not know. I respect the choices of the author and curious on where they are going. I am not saying I know better, or I could do it better. I am not trying to berate them and to my experiences a lot of others either. These are all your bad faith opinions of these people. You can dislike the reading, or disagree, this does not show that you are doing that.

Here you are presenting things from the anime, then mention alligators and manage to misrepresent them. From what we know about just human-alligator confrontations, most attacks and fatalities did NOT result in predation. Then you manage to project your misinterpretation of predators onto your argument. The comment under you correctly points out a case of a predator that does not follow the "rule" you put down and also suggests their thought process in the next sentence. Then you just tell them they are wrong and accuse them of misrepresenting your show and give your bad faith reason as why you think they did it. Then they tell you that they don't disagree with the xenophobic reading being correct, but still think it is present and so deserves discussion. Not that they are smarter, not that they wanna look smarter, but that they want to become smarter. Because there is one way you definitely cannot become smarter, by telling everyone who challenges your ideas that they have a power-fantasy against your idea. Like, you can just tell them you disagree and why you disagree, or that you have not yet flesh out an answer against that point, or you are just not interested. Anything. Hannibal eating pork is exactly not thinking about what the story is trying to talk about, because that would not be Hannibal. But if you take out Hannibal of his story and look at how would that look in a different context that is still exploring his character that can (not will) lead to better understanding it.
