The image shows two full-body views of Tahiru, who is a non-anthro western dragon. In one, he is walking on all fours. In the other, he is in flight. His colors are black and gold. Black dominates his back, flanks, and the top surface of his wings. His belly, throat and the underside of his wings are mostly gold.

I remain delighted with the results of my commission from Luthien, and would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone interested. (Also: Traditional art, meaning an actual physical artifact you can hold in your hands IRL!)

I triggered one of the world's greatest spontaneous spit-takes at Scarby ca. 2008, when Rosie of the Rambling Sailors was talking about the water-dispensing gryphons. I covered one eye and said, "Whoa! You're seeing those too?"

A cast concrete gryphon statue. It isn't... photorealistically great. It's also a drinking fountain, kind of by virtue of having a water spigot grafted onto the middle of its back.

US #politics specific: If there are runoff elections from the primaries, it might be time for early voting in those where you are. If so, please do that. Let's get the most progressive, angriest, queerest, trans-supportin'-est, ice-convictin'-est, socialist-est candidates their shot at office.

I'm pretty sure it was this one. Played it incessantly on a Fisher-Price monophonic turntable with what was probably twelve pounds of tracking force. I probably owe my parents a case of very nice whiskey.

Vinyl LP of Walt Disney Productions' _The Aristocats_ with a rather understated subhead reading "and other cat songs". There is a credit line saying "with PHIL HARRIS as O'Malley".

In this image, Tahiru is facing the viewer, his head, neck, shoulders and part of his wings visible. He gazes upward and to his right, eyes intense and expression grave. One possible interpretation is that he has done violence, and is troubled by his conscience...

So, back in September (of 2025), @dimenran.bsky.social mailed me an original painting I had commissioned. It was rejected by US Customs (reason unknown) and we feared it was forever lost. It arrived in today's (2026 March 05) mail, none the worse for wear. So happy to have this safe in my paws!
