Quilting, jewelry, maker-of-things. She/her. Disabled but only on the inside. Intent on polluting the shades of Pemberly. I don’t know how many ways I can tell ya’ll that I’m not a writer. Seriously. I wish I were.
Today I’m taking apart a vintage Japanese machine to see if I can get the needle bar centered rather than to the left, because it came with zero additional feet and getting a true 1/4” seam is A Challenge. I’m also taking my kid to the pool, and working on this actual nightmare.
It’s a beautiful sunny day (yay!) and I forgot to draw my eyebrows on (boo!).
I must have been riding a high from finding this FASCINATING pattern! It won’t fit me as is but I can scale it up. I think.
But my comfy reading chair is still decorated for Spring/Summer, so I don’t want to hear about it.
It’s so pretty inside, plus it has two seating areas, an outdoor patio, AND THEY’RE WORKING ON CRAFT NIGHT EVENTS.
It’s a bookstore that sells almost exclusively ROMANCE BOOKS, wine, and tea.
And this is the second one, which is SO CUTE but I’m not sure how good the glue is, and also I didn’t want to source 5 necklaces in this color. And photographing it is a PAIN.
Want to see a BIN that didn’t make it into the auction? The description was going to read: If you understand this reference, maybe log off and read a book.
Anyway, the first one is ready to go, and the two runner-ups are close behind. If I’m stitching, I can’t bid! @romancingthevote.com
Update: it’s almost 10 pm and it sounds like they’re kinda gettin serious. My attempt to make this room manageable, in pictures below. Also, the dishwasher is going and I started the dishwasher.
Anyway, I have a pile of fucks to give. Well, first I have to assemble them.
It turns out I do, in fact, have several fucks to give for my country. Sorry about the dogs.
It’s rather difficult to see where the birds are, except when there’s a bouncing of a branch as they leave, because all these plants are less than 10 years old.
Second, if you’ll recall, my spouse and dad and I built this cottage. It was for my kid to have sleepovers in, but she hates having people sleep over because, and I quote, “they want to stay til fucking NOON. You’re awake! Get out!”
First, please enjoy my very naked, dusty jewelry desk that I haven’t been able to get to because of the fabric piled around it.
Anyway. Type 1 diabetes is so easy to manage. The devices make it foolproof. (Yes I treated my low when my devices started screaming at me an hour and a half ago. I’m assuming the root cause is miscalculating how many carbs I ate for dinner after my silly grocery store car snack.)
Luckily it’s the “not feeling great” that is on its way to resolving. Oh yeah, no, the technology that keeps me alive is wonderful but it is NOT FUCKING FLAWLESS and requires FREQUENT CORRECTION.
Please say Hi to Whirl, who was rescued from the side of the road some years ago, and is now (unofficially!) employed as a Support Dog. I ask her, “Should I buy this?” and she never tells me “No! You have enough supplies at home!”.
Am I about to create a work of art do exquisite,it should never be done any other way?Or is it a huge waste of time for very little result?Let’s find out together! (Either way,I had to thread my machine using a bit of beading thread because the metallic thread wanted to shred. Prob not a good sign.)
I’m a fiber artist- home improvement stores have relatively inexpensive lighting that can be installed fairly easily and plugs into a standard outlet, providing great lighting that doesn’t take up table space. Also, buy reading glasses for close-up work, even if you don’t need them for reading yet.
The view from here: Potential! Also, Tiny Dog still has to wait until Grumpy dog is very comfy before she can enforce snuggling.
I have a quilting machine and a paper pattern. The quilt goes on a big frame, and the machine is on a carriage that lets me move the needle forward, back, and side to side. I line the red dot projected from my machine onto the paper and just…trace!
