disillusioned torontonian
@tanyap-toronto
so our "reward" for living thru a global pandemic is the worst governments ever. all over.
If you follow me you might notice a weird fascination with weather and I've been asking #environmentcanada to change their suggestion to post #onstorm to twitter. Just noticed they've gone with the generic #socialmedia but I'll take it.
Even with all the work being done by the lake I love spending time there. But it wouldn't kill the city to make transit that makes it more accessible.
Almost horizon-less at the lake this morning. Plus birds and biting flies.
The person who owns the condo over the coffee shop has a good sense of humour.
ode to projects that require no cats, where cats decide they are absolutely essential. (that was me getting ready to cut out a dress pattern)
Baby birds being fed by adults (adult in the photo) at Ashbridges Bay this morning.
I spent the morning poking around #AllenGardens and the succulents room was my favourite. Imagine meeting that in a dark desert.
Mission in progress. Those 3 cube soft drawers are what is new. Which means rethinking my set up. So it's not gonna be finished in one afternoon.
Went to Riverdale farm this morning and the piggies had the right idea. Although the flies were bugging them something fierce and the both kept twitching while sleeping.
I'm done work at 11:30 tonight. This is what living so close to the Hellmouth is like. 🥵
Happy birthday to my cat Alfie. He's 16 now so official an old fart. He sleeps a lot and grumbles and puts up with my cuddles. ♥️😻
The fenced off area to the west of where I was sitting
A possible new spot to sit while a 2 year shoreline construction goes on at Ashbridges Bay.

And now most of the original building is gone. Photo from November 2025
Didn't have anywhere specific to be this morning but the sun was shining so went downtown. Too cold to sit in the park. The church had a welcome sign out but I was bogged down by bags. I have been into this church before but it's always fun to see the insides of these buildings.
I went for my warm time day off morning ritual of sitting by the lake at Ashbridges Bay but a large part of the park is under construction - part of the shoreline project. Yes it's necessary but it means most of my usual preferred spots are behind a fence. So I guess I'll have to find another spot
Based on how much fluff I vacuumed up yesterday it's a toss up.
Yes I use a box cutter regularly. Yes I did a number on my finger today. It's gonna look terrible for awhile. Pressure bandage all day today. It's throbbing but I seem to have stemmed the bleeding.
Alfie, my cat, was sitting on the sofa this morning, which is relatively new for him, but the tail curl.
The snow wasn't sticking downtown but it was at Greenwood stn. Every tree limb, fences, mystery lumps under the snow, even left out holiday decorations. #onstorm
I know it's not goth but by changing out the buttons on this Joe Fresh coat it went from cute to 40s lady detective.
Ran with your suggestion, adding bell pepper and some chicken sausage. Didn't have fresh onion so used some dehydrated for flavour. It's a hearty meal. Thanks again. When I do this I usually do the potato but with sauerkraut and a little HP in the side.
