"new school kosmische" new album of tape loops and synthesis zikzak.substack.com
A new post on zikzak.substack.com Everyones fave subject it seems - 90's ambient techno
I made a marimba/gamelan, a pad, & bass from one guitar note. You can do a lot with a little when you limit yourself I'm finding out
Getting a Disco Inferno styled sampled guitar sound. Amazing how one note can be processed and re-amped to do this
Note to fellow guitarists..if you don't have a DI. get one asap! Re-amping your guitar has so many advantages. One big one is that you can replay your dry guitar tracks back through your pedal board. You get way more control & you can really experiment without worrying about playing at the same time
After managing to open up an old harddrive from 2000 and doing some other sleuthing, I have copies of all of my new release lists from August 1998 to April 2002. I even have one from 1995! Pretty interesting time capsule of IDM music as it was being released. All prices and descriptions still there
Probably a 2008. Squier with a dynamite Lindy Fralin P90 in the neck and a recent add was the Seymour Duncan humbucker in the bridge.
I would love to get some label interested in giving this album a home Been hard going but this really is a super heavy kosmische record. We are very proud of it
You like Popol Vuh? You play guitar? Well, you might enjoy these Popol Vuh loops I made to practice over. Fun stuff. www.swisstransfer.com/d/e9a1442f-0...
Finally learning the MS20 mini properly. Tutorials, books, etc. Got the guitars tracking just right to control the oscillators
Does anyone have these that could rip them for me? I can probably give you something nifty in return. Guitar World: The Alchemical Guitarist (Volumes 1 & 2) DVD by Richard Lloyd
These 2. I swap the Boss with the el Capistan but the Asheville stays on all the time. Maybe the most versatile pedal I own
cant imagine this will stay up long Scan of Mickey Mouse in Vietnam also known as Short Subject. Made in 1968 by Lee Savage (and Milton Glaser) archive.org/details/mmiv...
my new post on zikzak (along with doing some new album promo) features a link to download 2 very out of print ambient techno records that may very well be new to you zikzak.substack.com/p/new-ambien...
Out today! Released today in both CD & digital @woodfordhalse.bandcamp.com I joined forces with techno wiz @johnhaughey.bsky.social for a fusion of rhythmic echo guitar & electronics. Label says it's like Rother meets the Orb. I'm good with that. woodfordhalse.bandcamp.com/album/wf-98-...
the title was inspired by this flyer for the 1966 "Spontaneous Underground" show at the Marquee where Pink Floyd & AMM first played to underground audiences
RIP Günter Schickert Your music was an inspiration to me and many others You will be missed
made my first analog 4 track recording with my Teac 2340. Very dark, damaged stuff. Fairly reflective of my headspace. I dropped the audio over top of Phillipe Garrell's 1968 short "Actua"
First time I have ever seen this. A 1968 poster for Pink Floyd by Martin Sharp
the artist Ferdinand Kriwet was strongly linked to the Creamcheese. He did the outside banner, many invitations and his art as often projected in the club itself
free loops! Started making loops years ago because i had never been in a band & i wanted to learn how to play lead. These are mostly 60's american psych and adjacent. video below for examples. 140 or so. cut & looped in audacity. For use in your practice. DL in comments #guitar
