If one looks at what types of studies on Long Covid got funded, you think they were aimed at Complementary and Alternative Medicine, disregarding biomedical research. Music apparently "heals" LC, meditation, reframing thoughts to get healthy, and other pseudoscience. Similar to Conspirituality 👇

The "mild" brigade is out and about. They do not read studies, they emit severely uninformed opinions. Apparently "almost no one develops severe illness in human to human transmission." Studies show >50% of people do develop severe illness in human to human transmission. www.nejm.org/doi/full/10....

We can see this everywhere: companies that already planned to fire personnel without any link to AI introduction blame AI for their long-ago planned firings. I liked the sarcasm of the post below (it's in Romanian), with the hybrid expiatory goat used to make planned firings sound as innovation.

On Easter weekend, the weather has been cold and rainy where I live. The spring hasn't arrived yet, there aren't many buds in trees and the only flowers that grow happily are above some heated pipes, like the nice ones below. Yesterday it even snowed. I crave for some sun and spring.

There are some new far-right trolls on Bluesky spreading far-right nonsense about Sweden using tropes pushed by Trump and MAGA. An example is the account below: thomaslawrence88.bsky.social I blocked the account. This account is also misogynistic and pretty much MAGA undercover.

The fact that Chomsky put nazism and a pejorative use of "mansplaining" in the same paragraph to defend a convicted pedophile speaks volumes about his lack of ethics on more than one front. I didn't expect Chomsky to be high on ethics (he likes dictators), but I didn't expect him to be this low.

Germany has cracked down severely on climate activism and like magic studies with 1 author popped-up in the journal established by the controversial Eysenck claiming that climate activists are having "dark triad traits," although the sample used doesn't have said traits. Manufacturing proof.

Swedish research on long Covid likes to revive pseudoscience: "The symptoms commonly reported by PCC patients align with cultural narratives surrounding high-achieving women who ultimately experience collapse under cumulative pressure which has been a recurrent theme in the media." Hysteria anyone?

A weird study that tries hard to prove that women develop long covid because they learn it culturally, absurdly going on the line of debunked pseudoscience such as Type A personality and hysteria (biopsychosocial model is the new name for hysteria). A bunch of women researchers doing the patriarchy work of calling women with complex illness hysterical, "culturally ill".
