I own a MCM car. I live in a MCM house. I, myself, am MCM. Full of housewifery and bullydog nonsense. Don't blame me; I taught gov't/economics for over a decade. Still double-masking in public bc my immune system sucks at the immuning. #FUMS
Caught miss Pinto mid-meow. 😸 She really has the absolute sweetest disposition. We seriously lucked out. #catsofbluesky
Another day fighting The Battle of the Bathroom Ceiling: I decided to plaster all the small dings in the short wall outside the bathroom when I discovered whatever this blob is. Looks like somebody painted over a wet kleenex. Is about 3/4" tall. #oldhouseproblems
This is week 3 with our adopted kitty, Pinto. Just in the past couple of days, she's been sitting in this armchair in our library instead of hiding in the stacks, mainly behind "H" and "K." She likes her space, and she's starting to get a little chatty. Baby steps...😸 #catsofbluesky
My latest piece of backyard archaeology: Found this piece of steel, a cover piece from something bc it has screw holes, embedded in dirt near the garage. The can tab was something I turned up at the same time, and it's kind of convenient for relative sizing. 🤔
Here's just 1 of the plinth blocks in our downstairs hallway, after I puttied and sanded it. (Yes, the paint is a mess; no, I'm not dealing with *everything* right now.) Seventy-five years of baseboard abuse, right there. #oldhouseproblems
In our 1951 house, we had a downstairs hallway with hinges and a strike plate but no door. #oldhouseproblems I decided to remove the hardware and fix the gaps. Here's the hole from the strike plate, the gap with plywood glued down, and after putty/sanding/putting/sanding. IT'S SMOOTH! 😁
It's raining, so yardwork projects on hold. Instead, I'm working on other #oldhouseproblems. Have doorway with no door. Removed paint-caked hardware. Today: filled gaps with 1/8" plywood glued in place. Later, I can putty/sand/prime. Here's the before/after of one gap from a door hinge. 😁
post the best picture you have ever taken of your pet (if you feel like it):
Pupdate: Butter Bean (6-yr-old shorty bull) co-opted his sister's blankie this morning. 😁
Pupdate: Here's Butter Bean (6-yr-old shorty bull) with a "bear bush"--and he ended up with those little white spirea flowers all over him. 😆 These are getting somewhat "girdled" by the abuse! #dogsofbluesky
Pupdate: These guys were in no hurry to get up today--neither was I. (Susie-Q, 10-yr-old American bulldog; Butter Bean, 6-yr-old shorty bull)
Quote post with something good that lasted longer than the Confederacy (1861-1865) Zoey's tenure as our bulldog (2009-2016) ❤️
Pupdate: Somebaby got me out of bed at exactly 3 am because she had to go outside. When she came back, not only did she NOT settle down and go right back to sleep, but she grumped...and grumped...and GRUMPED until she woke my husband up. Oh, Susie. (10-yr-old American bulldog)
It's not exactly @catsofyore.bsky.social, but here I am with Pepper c.1980 (Lebanon, OH). 😸
Aww. My first dog was a snow dog. This is Sassy, c. 1975, in Lebanon, OH. (That's my dad's '63/'64/'65 Vette. I think of it as the Frankenvette, as it had parts from many bodies. 😁)
Awwww. Our Emma is 15-yrs-old, and she was raised by a bulldog. Here they are back in 2010. 😁
"Those icicles have been known to kill people!" --A Christmas Story Also, hanging off my eaves today.
Pupdate: This is where the bulldogs were when I woke up this morning. That little 10"-wide strip on the right side of Susie's butt is my spot. 🫠 (Butter Bean, 5-yr-old shorty bull; Susie-Q, 9-yr-old American bulldog) #dogsofbluesky
Emma Peanut (15 yrs) gets her own water so she won't drink mine. 😼 #catsofbluesky
Pupdate: Goober in action! (Butter Bean, 5-yr-old shorty bull; Susie-Q, 9-yr-old American bulldog) #dogsofbluesky
