I do not appreciate how he is wielding the Sledgehammer of Righteous Scientific Knowledge while espousing a very 2013 view of social science genetics. These two paragraphs hurt to read given how much the field has addressed them over the last decade. But ofc, he's a journalist not a scientist!
Yes!!! I think of these chills as a potentially universal biological component of openness to experience (From the preprint you all cited back in the day, now much more polished in published form). Once the GWAS is published so we can share the sumstats publicly, I'd love to see what you all find!

We applied GSI to compare patterns of genetic sharing in psychiatric disorders across cisgender males and females. We found MUCH more similarity than difference, especially for psychotic and internalizing disorders. Genetic effects on neurodevelopmental disorders appeared more sex-differentiated.

C'mon nutrition researchers. No way that the food we eat explains 50% of the variation in something as multidetermined as how long we live. There's soooooo many ways to die! (78 +/- 5 years is the avg lifespan, so 10 years is a d of 2ish, r squared of .5ish)
