my first instinct was to make a survival horror (since the jam ends in October), but that's probably most people's first instinct too. I have some clear mental images I want to include (like a darkly lit scene set in a glass dome with light caustics) but nothing to hang them on so far
brain isn't working correctly and google isn't helping: What is the name for that line that separates below and above water when viewed side-on? The thing I put in like half my artwork? This thing (photo credit: cpo.noaa.gov/noaa-blue-ca...)
#mechjam progress, I lost a day, but terrain tiles and projectiles are set up now.
didn't have a huge amount of time to work today, but here's progress on the player character
#MECHJAM day 1: brainstorming & moodboard (and un-photogenic project setup in Godot). I think I want to make a rail-shooter ala Burning Force or Space Harrier.
Made mini samosas for my oldest's graduation party, plus mint and tamarind chutney.
(flashing lights warning) revisited "blaster master zero 2"; It clicked this time and it's a lot of fun.
Mech on Mech feels kind of souls-like. lots of dodging and waiting for openings.
Got "Bounty Star" from a humble-bundle, its a action/farming hybrid mech game (haven't got to the farming part yet though. First impression is really strong, good sense of weight to everything and I love the mech designs. Controls are kind of clunky, but I think it's intentional. Runs great too.
