4/7 By 2026, some FPV drone modifications could reach 25–30 km. Russian operators may now be positioned just 4–5 km from central Kherson.
3/7 By 2025, the strike zone had already expanded. FPV attacks spread farther from the frontline, with Kherson increasingly exposed to drone strikes.
2/7 In 2024, most Russian FPV drones operated within 5–10 km of the frontline. Strikes were concentrated mainly in the areas closest to Russian positions.
Russian FPV drones are reaching farther into Ukraine’s frontline regions. Maps below show how the geography of Russian drone strikes in Kherson Oblast changed between 2024 and 2026. The darker the purple, the more strikes were recorded. 🧵⬇️
⚠️ FPV drone attacks on Zaporizhzhia jumped from 2 in May to 49 in June. Our joint data project with @cen4infores.bsky.social maps the expanding reach of Russian FPV drones and what it means for cities within their range. Find out more👇 texty.org.ua/projects/118... #Ukraine #Russia #attacks
The Armed Forces of Ukraine have liberated 19 settlements on the Oleksandrivka axis across the Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, and Dnipropetrovsk regions. The advance is another reminder that the claim that Ukraine is "bound to lose" does not reflect the reality of the war. 🧵👇
⚠️We mapped Russian strikes on Kyiv from February 2022 through June 15, 2026. The data reveals recurring attack hotspots, mass drone strikes becoming routine in 2025, and a sharp rise in ballistic missile attacks in 2026. texty.org.ua/articles/117...

Since January 2025, Russia has advanced faster while taking fewer losses. It occupies 116,165 sq km (19.25%) of Ukraine. Estimated Russian casualties: 1.0–1.3 million, including 300,000–400,000 killed. 6/6
By summer 2025, Russian tank and AFV losses fell sharply (83 tanks vs 250+ prior years) as tactics shifted to infantry assaults. Total losses: 11,682 tanks, 24,054 AFVs, even as Russia rebuilds and stockpiles armour. 5/6
Since 24 February 2022, Ukrainians have endured 74,768 air-raid sirens — often daily and sometimes multiple times a day — with the highest number in Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions, and the longest alerts (over 50 hours) in Donetsk and Kharkiv. 4/6
Missile attacks remain steady, but early 2026 saw a surge: 91 ballistic launches in January alone — a record high. 3/6
Although Ukraine intercepts ~80% of Russian air attacks, rising drone production makes the remaining 20% more destructive. 2/6
2025 was a year where data became our most honest witness. As the clock runs out on this year, we revisit the most impactful Texty.org.ua stories, tracing exactly how Ukraine endured, resisted and survived another year of Russian aggression🧵👇
Meet Ostap, a seven-year-old boy from Oleshky, Kherson, who lost his home, his town, his language & then his identity. Russia turned him into an orphan on its soil. His story echoes hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian children, showing how war steals childhood, roots & the right to belong. 🧵 ⬇️
Russia didn’t just invade Ukraine. It took control of hundreds of thousands of Ukraine children, forcing Russian language & propaganda onto them. In a joint Texty.org.ua @nzz.ch investigation, we follow one boy's story to show how Russia erases identities through pressure, paperwork & silence. 🧵⬇️
War may destroy cities, but it can also make nations impossible to ignore. Since Russia’s full-scale invasion, Ukrainian contemporary artists have become more visible than ever. Here’s how war transformed Ukrainian art into a global language 👉 texty.org.ua/articles/116...
