i guess $12 is more the standard now, i haven't priced them in awhile. you might like something more like this, it's designed to fit that directional style broadcast mic so it'll look a little more sleek.
i switched to one like this cause the gooseneck ones eventually start trying to fall down all the time and have experienced no change in quality. this is a universal fit for most condenser mics, not sure what you're using though.
