Happy National Museum Day! I feel very lucky to say I've not only worked with and visited several amazing museums, but also that I've contributed to some of them. Little me would think that's so sick. 🤘 Museums. These are some of the most valuable resources we have on this planet.

Its skeleton tells us a lot. It was widespread across western North America, likely very social (from evidence of herd behavior), and surprisingly tough. Some fossils even show healed injuries from predator encounters!
Meet Edmontosaurus! 🌿 One of my favorite dinosaurs and one of the most common and best understood from the Late Cretaceous. Living ~68-66 million years ago, this "duck-billed" herbivore was built for efficiency, its broad beak for cropping plants and hundreds of teeth packed into dental batteries!

I filmed a new segment today for Elevation Science! 🦕 This new video format will feature short-form paleontology scicomm mini-sodes, from new prehistoric animal discoveries to myth-busting. But what should we call it? Votes are welcomed! Paleo Bites Paleo Nuggets Paleo Pops Or something else?
The debate is over — Nanotyrannus lives! Well, it used to anyway. Scientists have now confirmed the existence of the tiny tyrant, #Nanotyrannus, ending an almost century-long debate among #dinosaur experts and enthusiasts. Not only does Nanotyrannus exist, but there are now two recognized species!
Talk about bending over backwards! This beautifully preserved #Gorgosaurus libratus, a cousin of T. rex, is one of the coolest fossils on display at the Royal Tyrrell Museum in Alberta, Canada.

Had a CROC-kin' good time at the Alabama Fossil Fest! 🐊 It was so fun connecting with hundreds of people from all over the southeast to talk about fossils, dinosaurs, and the incredible work being done by @elevationscience.bsky.social. Big thanks to everyone who chatted with me!
Standing under Patagotitan mayorum at the AMNH is mind-blowing; one of the biggest titanosaurs known. Lived ~100 million years ago in Argentina, ~30-40 meters long and ~55-70 tons. Titanosaurs were the late-Cretaceous sauropods—long necks, massive bodies, wide global range. Absolutely incredible!

Week 7! ✅ Visiting the K-Pg boundary, some really cool juvenile Allosaurus fossils, mapping sauropods and ornithopods, and a great field season crew.
Week Six! ✅ Swimming in plaster, Allosaurus limb bones (like this femur!), and jacketing some very cool dinosaurs!
A little late Week 5 recap of field season! Working on Allosaurus toes, removing probably the biggest sauropod femur we've ever found, and getting ready to plaster some REALLY big jackets!
Week 4 of field season! ✅ Outreach, old friends, and new discoveries! We have some pretty big things in the works, thanks to our incredible dig sites and participants. We can't wait to share these awe-inspiring fossils with you in the future!
Today's outreach really had a...leg up. 🦕 (Get it? Because this is a Diplodocus fibula?) Today, I traveled to Billings, MT for two fossil programs at the Billings Public Library—one for kids and one for adults! Everyone got to hear about the great work we do @elevationscience.bsky.social!
