She’s WAY TOO EXCITED to be on a quest to raise an army to save the ocean. Talia also may or may not have had her brain cooked by a fever before she started getting visions from the Seafather… but she’s so cute and charismatic that people can’t help but like her despite the wild things she says.

This is my piece for #potlucksecretsatan2026! The recipient isn’t on Bluesky but goes by freshestsquid on other platforms. I drew his fabulous, recently-divorced dwarf sorcerer named Krystle Balle, “The Amethyst Queen”. She was for a Curse of Strahd campaign, and I loved the vibe contrast.

If you’re pure of heart you can bind a zine into a hardcover book with trash and things from a craft stash. I wanted to try it but only if I didn’t buy anything new. I used a White Claw box, fabric from a laptop bag I cut the hardware out of, bias tape, fabric paint, polyurethane, and tacky glue.

I appreciate the review as someone else with tiny baby hands. I find that I like a thinner glove, and I need the fingertips open! That way I don’t have excess fabric bunching up and my hand can breathe. I found this style but I picked the stitches and removed the second layer of fabric.

To keep costs down I print my zine on a basic black/white laser printer. The quality was dropping rapidly and I learned what a corona wire does and why you should clean it. 😵‍💫 Here it is pre and post clean. My cheap off-brand toner cartridge isn’t very good, but it wasn’t all its fault.

If you haven’t seen it before, I made sprites for Earthbound Ancient Cave Randomizer so people can play as Laika. It was fun to see her in Mother 3 style!

Cool stuff I got this weekend at the Chboro Zinefest! This is a mix of stuff I bought and traded my Flare art zines for.

A player manual for the game “Wizards of Vandara”. It promises a “Rock ‘n’ roll wizard battle meets demolition derby” for “2+ players by Barrett Stanley”. There’s sick art of a wizard painting on a van coming to life.

Artists! Show your range!

The ribcage is missing the top right rib, as the artist had the same rib removed as part of surgery for Neurogenic Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. A diagram of the nerves of the thoracic outlet, brachial plexus, and head are sewn onto the skeleton. The painting was made with the colors French Ultramarine, Permanent Rose, and Raw Sienna. The majority of the skeleton is Raw Sienna, while the shadows are done with French Ultramarine and Permanent Rose. The right eye of the skeleton is filled in with Permanent Rose, while left is Raw Sienna like most of the skeleton.

WHAT IS THIS PLANT?

Darius is followed by a sentient bush he doesn’t remember creating during an extended period of solitude (and madness) near a strong magic source. He hates it. Flare eventually found an item that allowed her to speak with plants. The bush revealed it believed Darius was its father. Horrified, Flare demanded he take responsibility for his “child.”

Unbeknownst to him she was projecting her personal issues onto it as a "surprise" child herself. Darius has yet to accept the poor creature, but the bush doesn't seem to notice or care. Regardless, Flare named herself, "Not a stepmom, but a mom who stepped up," and tends to the bush to keep it safe during their adventures. She can often be heard reminding it, "You were unexpected but not unwanted."

Flare shocked her family and their associates when she showed up in Selva after only a month's absence with a baby carrier strapped to her thigh, arguing with a man twice her age about child support. Pulling a plant out of the carrier did not clarify anything.

The vines wind halfway across the ring and then die off and fade to black with red streaks on Angie’s side. It represents that he’s slowly (but unintentionally) killing Flare from the inside out.
