My book club is reading Rare Flavours by @therightram.bsky.social & Filipe Andrade. Attendance has been flagging, but I was inspired to make some paal payasam to entice the others. I used maple syrup as the sweetener, to add my story to the recipe, and it turned out great.

It's admittedly not a great photo since the mug and the food inside it are very similar in color, so it looks like an empty mug with some cashews, but, hey, this isn't instagram and I'm not on that site. It's food that I made and it tastes good, which is more important than how it does on the socials.

my experience in meme form

The tagline ends in a ~ follwed by an !, known as a tilde-bang, it was a punctuation pecularity created by Dean to emphasizes excitement (late also used sarcastically). At one point he said it came about when he was enthusiastically typing up a report and decided not to go back and erase a typo.

Absolute Amateurtitude Tilde Bang. Amateurtitude is my portmanteau of amateur and attitude, which is essentially an outgrowth of "write like Dean".

Are you sure this is a Harry Potter movie, Dan? It's such a Harry Potter movie, it has two Harry Potters in it (and an Anne Potter and a Wendy Potter). So it's twice the Harry Potter movie than those other ones.

Time to rewatch the only Harry Potter movie I liked.

Mr. Invincible comic, one page, in which the schlubby titular character recovers a stolen painting by handing it up between panels & telling himself where to go next. As a punchline, it ends two panels early and Mr. Invincible writes a note to himself to work on timing.

...that made the whole movie theatre feel like it was shaking. It was brilliant. Of course, at the end of the movie, when it went by again I realized it was the F train, not the film. In my defense, the train first went by in the opening montage when this alarm clock was going off serendipity!)...

I wasn't sure the delineation bet/visited and stayed, but took it to mean slept there at least one night. The non-coastal West is mostly from a bus trip I did in HS. (OK to ND might be blue from it too) I've also stayed in BC, AB, ON & QC (and maybe passed through NB). Sorry Manitoba, some day.
